Chapter 8

I woke up the next morning and saw the bed was empty. I made my way out of bed and walked into the dining room to find Lucas with my so called parents. They were sitting at the table drinking what smelled coffee. They noticed my presence and Lucas looked at me.

"Lucas can I speak to you for a moment?", I asked.

He stood up and walked towards me. I grabbed his hand and led him away from the dining room far enough so they wouldn't hear us.

"How did you find them? What are they doing here?", I asked.

"I went out and got them. They know everything about you, I did a DNA test while you were sleeping. They are who they say they are. They are your parents", he replied.

"How can you be sure?", I asked.

"Just trust me okay? I'm very very sure they're your parents", he replied.

"Okay fine. I trust you. Where's Melissa?", I asked.

"With my dad. Stop stalling let's go", he replied taking me back into the dining room.

They both looked at me and smiled a little.

"Morgan so glad you could join us. Please have a seat", Kyle said.

It is my castle so of course I'll have a seat. Lucas took a seat next to me and gently held my hand.

"Okay. You two are my parents is what has been proved. Why did you leave me? Why did you leave and not come back?", I asked.

They exchanged glances and Brittney I mean my mother nodded at my father. It feels weird calling them that.

"Well", my dad began. "We went out that morning looking for something to eat for a few days. On our way home, we were kidnapped by some vampires and held hostage in some sort of human home. We begged for them to let us go but they refused. They kept telling us that they knew where you were and would go after you if we tried to escape. So we never tried again until they all left. That day, we escaped and left. But that same evening a group of vampires came and turned us. We didn't stop looking for you but after years and years of searching we kind of gave up and just thought fate would bring us together and here we are. Together like a real family".

"You mean to tell me you gave up on looking for me? You gave up on looking for your only child?", I asked.

"Morgan we're so sorry we thought you were dead. What did you expect us to do? Continue looking for you knowing at some point it would be useless because we knew we wouldn't find you?", my dad asked.

"Yes that's what you were supposed to do. You weren't supposed to stop looking until you found me", I replied.

"Well now we're reunited again and we don't plan on leaving", my mom said.

"Lucas I need to speak to you. Alone", I said.

He simply nodded and followed me into the kitchen. We dismissed all the staff members until we were done talking.

"Do you honestly expect me to accept them? I mean seriously Lucas they gave up on me. Does that mean anything to you?", I asked.

"Morgan give them a chance okay? They're trying to be apart of your life and you aren't letting them. Just give them a chance", Lucas begged.

I looked at him and sighed. I hate to see him sad.

"Fine. I'll give them just one and only one chance for them to be real parents. If they mess up then they're leaving and we're going to act like that the past couple days never happened", I said.

"Okay then. Anything else you need to talk about?", he asked.

"Yes you got something on your shirt", I replied.

He looked down and I messed up his hair. He looked at me and grabbed me by my waist. I looked at him and he gave me a small smile.

"Ready to go face them?", he asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be", I replied.

We walked back into the dining room and we sat across from them. I looked at them both and my mother gave my dad a small smile.

"Okay. I've taken some things into consideration and I'm giving the two of you a chance to be real parents again. But one mess up and I don't want to see or hear from you ever again", I said.

Hopefully they don't mess things up...
