Sixteen

"Baby where you at?" I called stepping into her house. I tossed my keys on the coffee table and kicked off my shoes.

I jogged up the stairs to her room where I seen her sitting down in the middle of the bed Indian style.

"Wassup babe." I said coming over to her and kissing her lips.

"We need to talk." She mumbled.

Her long brown hair fell to the sides as she held her head down, her arms her at her sides and her hands were on her stomach let's not mention that her eyes were red and puffy.

"What's wrong baby?" I asked climbing in bed with her sitting behind her with my legs open. "Face me." She sniffled and turned around sitting in front of me in the same position.

"Promise me you won't be mad at me." She mumbled wiping her eyes as more tears fell.

"Be mad? Toni what's going on?"

"I went to the Doctor yesterday." She said looking at me finally.

"What happened? Are you okay?"

"I'm pregnant Eric." She mumbled crying into her hands.

At that moment my heart sank to my stomach and I sat there speechless.

I looked up at her and she just cried into her hands. I shook my head and pulled her into me wrapping my arms around her.

"It's gon be alright baby. I got us." I said rocking us side to side.

"I'm scared. I don't know anything about kids." She spoke through her sobs.

"Baby, calm down. We gon learn together, trial and tribulations." She nodded.

"Now stop crying and give me a kiss." She smiled and leaned up to give me a kiss. I kissed her back allowing my tongue to slide in her mouth. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I pulled away.

"I love you." I said putting my forehead on hers.

"I love you more." She said kissing my lips again.

"You gon ride for me?" I asked again.

"Till the wheels fall off." She said looking deeply into my eyes.

For some reason I felt the butterflies float around in my stomach like I was in high school again. I knew right then and there that I was going to marry this girl. She was gon be my wife.

"That's all I need." I said kissing her lips.

Two weeks later

"Mama!" I shouted walking into her house.

"Míjo, stop shouting." She said coming around the corner out of her kitchen.

"Sit down mama, I got some news for you." I smiled grabbing her hand and leading her into the dinning room that was next to the kitchen.

"What is it baby?" She laughed sitting down.

I sat down in front of her and grabbed her hands holding them between us.
