The Woods [Book One]

Nineteen

I sat in the chair inside of Toni's hospital room watching her sleep peacefully. My poor baby. There's no doubt in my mind that I'm going to pay that bitch Jenny a visit as soon as she get out the hospital.

What if something would've happened to my child? Or worse, what if something happened to her? I'd go on a fucking rampage. But right now, all that mattered to me was that my babies are good.

It started raining a few hours ago and by now that shit was pouring and thumping against the window. I got out the chair and walked over to the window resting my arm above my head and watched the rain fall down.

Toni walked down the stairs of their brand new house looking for their son Eric junior who was playing hide and seek with his mother, sister Tavi, and his father.

"EJ? Come out come out wherever you are." She said walking backwards into the kitchen.

She heard their daughter Tavi giggle under the kitchen table along with her husband Eric shushing her so they wouldn't get caught.

"Hm, I wonder where they could be." She said absentmindedly walking out of the kitchen going into the hallway and standing against the wall.

"Run." Eric said to their daughter Tavi as he helped her off her feet and they ran out from under the kitchen table and into the hallway. EJ peeped out of the pantry and followed his sister and father making a run for it.

Toni listened closely to the sound of their footsteps and came around the corner trapping Tavi in her arms making her scream and laugh.

"Mommy's got you!" Toni cheered as she swung Tavi's little body around.

Eric and EJ came running around the corner seeing Toni had captured Tavi and they both looked at each other before taking off back around the corner screaming. 

"Let's get em beautiful." Toni said placing Tavi on the ground and slapping hands with her.

Eric and EJ hid in the living room, EJ under the coffee table and Eric behind the dark drapes Toni had in the living room. Toni and Tavi both spilt up tip toeing into the living room looking for the two. EJ mistakenly lifted his foot and it hit the table making Toni smirk and make her way over to the coffee table.

She smirked and pushed her hair back before leaning down and reaching under the coffee table grabbing both of his ankles and pulling him out. His eyes bulged as he realized his mother had grabbed his ankles and pulled him from beneath the coffee table and once she pulled him out he began having a fit of laughter. 

Tavi walked smoothly around the living room in search of her father, she figured he had to be in here if her brother was in here too. She held her hands behind her back as she walked past the gigantic picture window that was covered by the dark Burgundy drapes.

Eric sucked in a sharp breath when he heard her walk away but screamed when EJ pulled the curtain back revealing Himself, his mother and his daughter. They all smirked looking at Eric practically plastered to the window and laughed.

"EJ! Man you supposed to be on my team!" Eric said smacking his lips.

"Mommy offered me ice cream." He shrugged latching onto his mother who stuck her tongue out to Eric.
