Ch.7
"That chick with the red shirt." Nick said.
"No way, are you blind? Her friend though, with the black jeans." Kevin said.
Nick had called me the morning after, pretty much forcing me to go to a nearby park with him since it was such a nice weather. I didn't even know how he got my number. And apparently, he had gone by Jake's house on the way to the park, but Jake wasn't home so he dragged Kevin along.
The park was pretty big, it had a small playground in one end where several children were playing right now. Near the playground was a little shop selling ice cream and other refreshments, and the rest of the park was littered with trees and benches except for a small clearing where some guys were playing football.
We were currently sitting under a tree, sodas and water in hand and both Kevin and Nick had their eyes glued to a group of girls sitting on a bench near the shop.
"That's a nice-"
"Don't finish that sentence. Gosh, doesn't gay mean anything to you?" I interrupted them.
"Oh come on! You can't honestly say that she isn't hot!" Nick looked at me like my answer would determine my sanity. Kevin, on the other hand, looked like he wasn't breathing for fear of bursting out in laughter.
"I have eyes, and sure she's pretty. But I'd much rather look at that." I said, looking at the guys playing football, shirtless. Nick looked at them for a minute, seemingly in deep thought.
"Nah, I prefer the girl."
"It took you that long to figure out?" Kevin asked, amused.
"I don't wanna make any rash decisions." Kevin looked like he didn't know weather to laugh or face-palm.
"I just got the best idea ever!" Nick exclaimed, sitting up straight. Both Kevin and I looked at him hesitantly, Nick wasn't really known for his brilliant ideas.
"Don't look at me like that, you'll love it! How about..." he paused, getting a mischievous look on his face, "We get Marc a guy!"
"No!" That would not end well. Nick seemed to think otherwise, though. And Kevin looked like he was actually contemplating it.
"Guys. No."
"Why not? I'm sure we can find a willing candidate here, there doesn't seem to be any in school."
"Why're you so persistent? "
"I think it's a good idea too, actually." Kevin said.
"No, it's not. It could never end well."
"Too bad, we're two against one so get up. We're gonna play some football." Nick looked overly excited.
I got up, reluctantly, and we headed over to the other guys. There was about eight of them and they all seemed to know each other. They looked to be about my age, but I didn't recognize any of them from school.
"Hey! Do you have room for three more?" Nick shouted out, to get their attention.
"Make that two, I think I'll just watch." Kevin said, going over to a nearby tree and sitting down.
Traitor.
"Yeah, sure. You don't mind going against each other, do you?" one of the guys, a blonde haired, tall one, said. Nick's grin broadened, "Not at all."
Oh, he was so going to get it. He didn't know that I wasn't just eating healthily, I was exercising too and I had been on my school's football team before I moved here.
