Slowly opening my eyes, I could feel a sharp pain running throughout my body. The world spun around me, fading in and out. As my vision slowly came to stand still, I sat up, hunching over my own legs. "What on earth?" I couldn't remember a thing about the night before. I thought long and hard but there was nothing there to be found except haze. Staring at the floor I realized that I was on the couch in my living room. The smell of bacon filled the air. Dad was most likely home cooking breakfast so I thought nothing more of it. My eyes adverted to the clock on the wall and I sighed. "Dad's at work."
A few moments went by and I realized what I just said. I quickly leapt onto my feet and stumbled to regain my balance. Why was I so dizzy and off balance? I couldn't even walk straight so I held onto the wall which lead to the kitchen. I poked my head around the corner of the wall, looking into the kitchen. I stood there in shock, everyone was in my kitchen sitting down at the table exhausted and eating silently. Flay was serving and cooking bacon and pancakes while Alicia, Brooklyn, Madeline, Logan, Valentina, Ryder, Grant, and Philip were all eating in their Halloween costumes. My confusion grew stronger but my thoughts were interrupted by Flay's words. "Good Morning!"
I looked at him shocked, "What's going on?"
"No good morning first?" Flay sighed as he turned off the oven and leaned his back against the counter, crossing his arms looking at me with that carefree smile.
"Oh, sorry good morning."
Flay laughs at my confusion and picks up a sheet of paper, that was on the counter. "See was that so hard? Anyways take a look, your old man left us a letter stating he found all of us passed out on the floor in the attic. So, he brought us down to the living room and laid us all on the floor with blankets and pillows. Your dad's a pretty cool dude." Flay spoke like he always did, carefree and passionately.
What? Why was I passed out on the floor? My mind rambled but the only thing I could remember was pain and a fight. A fight, with Ryder; we were fighting because he hit Valentina. My gaze turns to the corner of my eyes and glares over at Ryder. He was calmly eating to himself quite almost like he was thinking about something. I hate that kid my blood boils a little before calming again. Wait, why were we all passed out upstairs? "That doesn't explain what happened." I exclaimed, "If we were all upstairs why did we pass out?"
Alicia looked over at me, "Well from what I remembered, Grant and I were watching you and Ryder fight in the attic. After you kicked him everything went dark?" Everyone looked around their own memories to attempt to piece what had really happened. But it seemed that there wasn't any solid proof anything happened at all.
Philip stood up, "Why don't we just look in your attic again, before we go to school?"
Flay laughed, "You're going to school looking like that, Spartacus?"
Phillip looked down at his gladiator costume "Point taken but I can't miss school man. My parents would kill me." Philip stated in his defense.
"What school ding-dong it's Sunday," Flay replied laughing.
"I don't care let's just go see." Philip got up grabbing Flay's shoulders and pushing him towards the corridor. They bickered all the way through the hallway. Valentina and Brooklyn where silent as they just watched the scene unfold. Grant and Logan leaped out of the chairs to go follow, while Ryder just simply stood up and walked out the front door.
"Well isn't he peachy this morning?" Madeline mumbled under her breath. I couldn't agree more with Grim, something about that kid throws me off. Then she got up and grabbed my hand. "Let's go upstairs, I'm curious to."
