Applekit raised her paw to shield her eyes from the sunlight, it was draining through the edges of the den and she wanted to get sleep. Her littermates were playfully fighting nearby while Applekit lay restless in her nest, but didn't want to get up. Her mother pushed her out of the nest and told her to play.
"Applekit!" Whispered a voice behind her, she looked to see her mother sleeping peacefully. Ignoring the voice, she pushed outside of the den.
"Hello Applekit, how are you doing this morning?" A warrior named Hareflight asked her, she was surprised that she walked straight into the warriors den.
"Oh, I uh! Should be going! Sorry to walk in here!" She squeaked and turned to leave but was only pushed further into the den by more warriors. Wishing it'd all stop she started yowling. That caused everyone to stop and look down at the 1 moon old kit.
"Oh dear there you are!" Said her mother, she picked up Applekit and rushed back towards the nursery.
Applekit stood awkwardly when her mother set her down and her siblings rushed up to her.
"What was it like in the warriors den?" Graykit asked, Applekit's sister.
"Did they hurt you!" Amberkit mewed worriedly, Applekit's other sister.
"Pfft, who cares? She's here now and that's all that matters." Sneered Rabbitkit, Applekit's snobby brother.
"We care!" Graykit and Amberkit furiously chorused.
Applekit rolled her eyes and slunk off into the nest right next to her mother. She closed her eyes and shut out her siblings arguing, and sleep flooded over her.
