Everyday Applebreeze would hear the voice behind her, whenever she turned around, no one was there. Her kits were growing fine and strong and they left the Clans two moons ago. They had entered an area near a lake.
Sagekit was growing sick though. Dawnkit and Spiderkit always worrying over her. "Mommy." Sagekit mewed in their makeshift nest, "Can I get water?" Applebreeze stood up and fetched some moss and soaked it. She took it back to her kits and let them drink.
Applebreeze assumed that her daughter had a fever, but she didn't know what to use to help cure it, and she wouldn't know where to find it either. Dawnkit whimpered in her sleep so Applebreeze woke her, "What's wrong dear?" She soothed.
Dawnkit explained her dream, "There was blood! And it was loud and scary! I don't ever want to have the dream again!" She shivered. Pushing her kits closer to her in the nest, she heard a voice whispering louder than it ever had before, "Applebreeze!" She turned around with tired eyes to yet again see nothing.
The sound of rumbling and the dark clouds told Applebreeze that there was a storm approaching. She decided to hunt for her kits. Slowly standing up she moved out of the nest and worked her way into the forest.
She scented a mouse so she dropped into a hunter's crouch and slowly crept up on it, she pounced and killed it with a swift bite to the throat. Thanking StarClan for her prey, she went back to her nest to see her kits peacefully asleep. Tails and ears twitching every once and a while.
She buried the prey next to the nest and curled up to sleep, they would all share the food in the morning. Applebreeze used her tail to sweep her kits close to her. She closed her eyes and had the same dream of blood and squealing kits.

The roaring thunder awoke her the next morning. She woke her kits and offered them some of the mouse. They all ate, and Applebreeze breathed in their scent, relishing their company. She buried the remains of the mouse before letting her kits play in the small den.
It was pouring rain outside and there was thunder and lightning throughout the whole day. Her kits decided to leave the den while Applebreeze wasn't looking. She finally turned and saw her kits next to a tree.
"No! Get away from there!" Applebreeze yowled racing over to them, they didn't seem to hear her. They were giggling and trying to climb the tree. Applebreeze didn't reach them in time, lightning struck the tree. She heard the same deafening squeals in her dream as her kits flopped onto the ground. The rain let up right then, clouds quickly disappearing.
Applebreeze pelted across the land to see her kits' lifeless bodies sprawled around the tree. She dropped to the floor sweeping her kits close to her. She began sobbing and grief stabbed her in the heart. First Icey, then Graypaw, then Rabbitwhisker, then my mother and finally my kits.. Everyone else she loved dearly is probably dead too. She thought.
Suddenly thunder rumbled the sky and lightning struck the tree again, sending a powerful pain through Applebreeze's body, it was suddenly cut off. She heard the voice saying her name, but they were yowls now. They all sounded familiar. She looked up and saw Graypaw, Rabbitwhisker, Icey, her mother, her kits.. Amberflight..
"We're here to welcome you to StarClan." Her mother gently meowed. Applebreeze felt so happy about reuniting with everyone she loved, she forgot about her pain. Or losing her kits for that small second. She followed them all to StarClan territory and she lived on her life with her family.. ♡
