The Initiate

Part 12

"Who's there." I hear Rea question. I cover my mouth to muffle my breathing. I hear the sound of shoes padding against the ground and the sound is getting closer. Slowly and safely I take steps back hoping to avoid contact with either girls. Unfortunately because the tunnels of dauntless are a maze my back bumps into someone. I turn around and see Rita standing their. Fear and worry packed into her brown orbs. I try to sprint the other way but crash into Rea.

"I'm sorry Ari but no one can know our secret." She speaks slowly and dauntingly. Before I can move they grab my arms and drag me to the chasm. I try to wriggle my arms out of their death grip but they don't seem to loosen. I dig my feet into the ground only slowing them down a bit. We turn a tunnel and I see the gaping hole in the wall that leads to the chasm. That's when I come up with an idea. I stick one of my legs out tripping up Rita. She goes face first and releases her grip on my right arm. I take this chance to swing my arm around and create a fist hitting her on the side of her face. She takes her hands off of me to caress the side of her face. I get in to a fighting position as I see Rita and Rea both fix themselves and getting in to a similar stand. They both go to punch at the same time but with my fast reflexes I grab both of their arms and bring them together whilst taking a step back. They better they both stumble forward and crash into each other leaving them both with bloody noses. Rita goes to punch me at the same time that Rea tries to kick me. I duck down and stick out my leg spinning it in a 360 format knocking them both down. Rita fortunately bashes her head against the rocks knocking her out. Rea advances on me before swinging several punches and kicks. I block them all but also manage to catch her foot. I throw her foot up making her do a flip and smash her head against the ground knocking her out.

I take this as my chance to get help. I run as fast as I can down to the pit. I know that you're not to suppose to scare people with the thought of divergents so instead I look for someone who I know will solve the problem. The first leader I come across is Angel. I run over and grab her arm dragging her away from her friends.

"Ari whats wrong." She asks with concern flowing out of her words.

"We need to go quick incase they wake up but Rea and Rita are divergent. I just walked in in them having a conversation about it and they tried to throw me over the chasm." I ramble.

"Calm down. Go stand with them I'm gonna get the other leaders." She tells me with authority. I nod my head and run back up. They're still knocked out with blood dripping down their noses. I am so anxious, my hands are shaking and my head is spinning.
Where are they.
What if they wake up.
What's going to happen to them.
I'm brought out of my thoughts by all of the leaders rounding the corner in a fast jog. I let out a sigh of relief and drag my fingers through my hair.

"Are you alright." Max asks me.

"A little shaken up but I should be okay." I reassure.

Max points at two other dauntless leaders. "Take them to the infirmary. Don't let them leave your sights. Ari, Eric. I need you both in my office to make statements. Angel you need to get the footage from intelligence and get four. He needs an interview as well. Let's go." Eric and I follow max throughout the compound until we reach the offices. We take lots of turns until we make it to a very black office. Black chairs, black desk, black walls. The only thing that stands out is the wooden floor.

"Please take a seat. Eric I'm going to ask you questions first since you watched over the initiation. I must take notes and make a recording. Do you understand." Max explains.

"Yes sir." Eric replies with a straight face. Max sets up the equipment before sitting back down at his desk.

"Eric. Did you notice anything about Rea Nick or Rita Golds during initiation."

"I was only able to overview their combat and skills training. Though through their training they were very close. The were accepting to everyone. From the outside they looked like normal initiates. "

"What about outside of training. In the cafeteria or pit. What did you notice."

"Once again they were very close. Only whispered really. They spent a lot of time at the chasm but they mainly just stared at it."

"Do you feel there is anything else we should know."

"That's all I know." He shortly replied.

Max stops the recording then looks back at Eric. "You're free to go." He gives max a small nod before leaving the office. As Eric walks calmly out Angel comes crashing through. "Got the tapes." She hands a disc over to Max. He puts the disc in to the machine thingy. I don't know the technical name. Let's be real here I was never gonna be erudite. Then he presses play. Video footages of the attack flood onto the screen. All the punches, kicks and knockouts. Instead of watching I look out of the window. I didn't want to witness the monstrosities that I use to call my friends.
