Hi everyone. I'm so sorry that I've not updated in almost two years! I've had a lot going on in my life and took a massive step back to focus on myself. Thank you to everyone for the votes and motivating comments. I love you all so much 💗💗

The small silver key slides in to the metal lock on the black door. I slowly turn it until I hear a loud click. My hand reaches for the cold piece of metal as I yank it down and slowly push, opening to reveal a large room.

This is my apartment, my new home.

It's a bit empty but I'm going furniture shopping tomorrow with my mom and I'm staying with Uriah tonight.

My apartment has 3 bedrooms, a main room, a kitchen/dining area and a bathroom. I don't think I'll need 3 bedrooms so I'll turn 2 of them in to guest rooms.

I walk back out of my apartment and start my journey to my moms apartment.

I knock on the door 3 times before pushing it open and walking in. My mother is tidying whilst Uriah and zeke seem to be sparring. None of them notice that I've walked in so I take great pleasure in slamming the door shut causing all the attention to turn to me. My mother rushes over engulfing me in a hug, whilst Uriah chants my name and zeke does a sarcastic bow making me erupt in laughter.

"My baby girl, oh I'm so proud of you." My mom whispers in my ear. She squeezes me once more before retracting her arms and putting the cleaning cloth on the table. Uriah then slings his arm over my shoulder whilst dragging me over to the sofa where everyone else was sitting.

"So Ari, care to tell us your new job" zeke asks with a smirk in his face.

"And your apartment number." Uriah butts in.

"Well I'm staying here for a few nights until I get my furniture but my new apartment is number 5-"

"But aren't the first 10 apartments are only for leaders and other faction leaders?" Uriah asks.

"Yip. I am the new 5th dauntless leader!"

Suddenly I am crushed as my whole family leaps on top of me. Their reactions were hilarious. My mom had proud tears rolling down her cheeks whilst Uriah and zeke both burst out with joyful screams.

This is my family. This is my faction.

"Uriah get your fat butt off of me or I swear to god I'll make you factionless!" Uriah scrambles off of me and runs in to his room, slamming the door.

I roll out of the bed and get changed into my usual dauntless attire. I start my leader training today which will probably be hell and to top it off I have to renovate my apartment since the furniture I chose last night will have been delivered.

I leave the apartment and go down to get some breakfast. The dining hall is busy as usual and has its normal buzz. Looking around I see Jacob and Ashton at a table shovelling food in to their mouths so I decide to join them.

"God you guys eat like pigs"

"Good morning to you too, little miss leader" Ashton replies sarcastically.

"It's not official yet, I still have training." I lightly shove his shoulder before sitting next to him.

"Let's be real here, you're going to smash that training in quickest time ever." Jacob adds. I smile at my best friends before grabbing some strawberries.

"So what jobs have you guys got?"

"Well we both decided to take the jobs in intelligence. Didn't feel like working on the fence, or stopping the factionless from killing each other. That and it had the best pay" Jacob jokes. We all erupt in laughter as another two people sit across from us. Shawn and James look at us with weird glances. I calm down before addressing them.

"So what jobs did you two pansycakes get?"

Shawn answers first, quickly beating James. "I'm a medic, had enough broken bones and bruises to know how to treat them."

"And I got tattoo artist which is so sick! I mean I literally get to stab people as a job" James rushes in, leaving us all in stitches.

"I think I'm going to make sure that I'll always get tori." Jacob jokes back.

We laugh through breakfast before I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn to be met with the face of Eric.

"Let's go. Your training starts now."
