Two Best Friends Can't Fall In Love....Can They?

Chapter One:

"Hey! Give that back Ryan!" I shouted at him, I was trying to get my phone off him, he had taken it off me to see what I was looking at.

"Aw Sal, your looking at pictures of us. You were a cutie back then" he exclaimed while I'm still jumping to get my phone out of his hands.

"What! I'm still cute" I said with a pout. "Can I please have my phone back."

"Since you asked me so nicely little one, I shall" He teased.

I grumbled, he was only a year older than me, I'm not that little but Ryan did have a massive growth spurt so yeah maybe I am short but he didn't have to tease me.

"Come on, let's go watch some football!" I shouted while hitting my head on the wall.

"Yeah, let's go clumsy" he said while I was rubbing my head.

I wish I could tell him how I felt, how any time he called me cute, I would blush, or when he would say he loved me.... But as a friend. I was so scared, I couldn't tell my best friend that I was in love with him, that was so crazy, he would put me in a mental hospital.

"Sal, you alright?" Ryan questioned.

"Yeah" I smiled while telling him.

We got in his car and he drove us to the footy while I chose the music. This was our thing, whoever was driving was not allowed to choose the music, passenger was though.

So abit about myself, I'm 19 and I live in Sydney, Australia. I have wavy brown hair, hazel eyes and I'm pretty average, whereas Ryan is 20, lives in Sydney as well. Amazing blue eyes with dirty blonde hair, amazing abs and biceps, he was such a hottie but I would never tell him that.

"So are you going to the party after this?" Ryan asked me.

"Nah I have to work, I got called in" I said sadly.

"Damn, that sucks, I don't wanna go without you" he made a puppy face at me.

"Next time, I promise I will. Which reminds me, there is a bonfire Tuesday night, want to come?" I asked him.

He gasped "Saleiah, are you asking me out!"

"Ha ha very funny" I joked.

"Hehe but yeah sure I will come" he replied.

"Cool" I said as we pulled up to the football oval. "Let's watch some football. Hopefully our team wins"

We got out the car and walked closer to the oval fence to find a seat.

We sat down with our other friends Sean, Ella, Bec and Troy. They were all couples so sometimes Ryan and I felt like third wheels. Sean was in love with Ella and kept asking her out until she said yes which she finally did and they have been so cute ever since. Troy and Bec are engaged, they were cute as well, everyone was so excited for them to get married but also excited for them as they were expecting a baby girl in two months.

"Oh my god, being pregnant sucks!" Bec exclaimed.

"Are you sure you wanna be here babe, we can go home" Troy asked caring for Bec.

"No, I needed to get out of the house so we are staying here plus I haven't seen Saleiah in ages" she smiled at me.

"Sorry, I've just been so busy" sounding apologetic.

"It's okay, Troy and I just wanna hang out with you guys more before Savannah comes" yup they already had a name in mind. "Any of you going to the party later"

"I got called into work" I scowled.

"Sometimes your job sucks" Ella mentioned.

"Yeah I know, but it's some money coming in" I shrugged.

"That is true, I've still gotta find a job, can't be unemployed forever" Sean said while laughing.

Everyone laughed along with him as the game was starting and then everyone started cheering. I felt Ryan put his arm around my shoulders, Ella and Bec gave me a knowing look which made me roll my eyes. Ryan always puts his arm around my shoulders as a friendly gesture.

Sometimes I wished it was real tho.

**********Later at Work**********

Sadly, I have to go to work after watching a game of fabulous footy. Our home team won, Yay! Now it's time to work my arse off. As I parked my car in the parking lot of Subway, I could see my other best friend Tegan Luck making someone a sandwich.

I walked in and waved to her before going to my locker to put my stuff away, I put my badge, apron and hat on and then got ready to clock on and to start working. I could hear Tegan finishing the order with the customer so I waited til she finished to talk to her.

"Have you told him yet" she asked when she was finished.

I rolled my eyes and gave her a look, does she really think I would tell my best friend what I thought of us and how much I wanted to be with him? "No, of course I couldn't"

"Some day you will Hon, it's not good keeping this to yourself" she said.

Now, I really love Tegan, she was the same age as me, but she went to a different school, she did know Ryan but she wasn't best friends with him.

"Someday it will happen when I'll confess to him, but it's not right now" I whispered.

She nodded and before she could say anything, it got busy and we had to serve customers.

Hi Guys, this is just a small authors note. This is my new story and I hope to keep this one going. I do have other stories but did not feel like finishing them.
