Chapter 10: Ryan's P.O.V

Ryan's P.O.V

My head hurt. It felt like I had slept for weeks. I could hear beeping noises all around me even though I didnt have any alarms set.

"Turn that off please" I groaned.

No one answered me. I rubbed my hand against my face and felt a tube. I frowned and tried to pull it out.

"No son, that stays in" I heard my dad say.

I opened my eyes, but all I could see was pitch black, I couldn't see where my dad was standing.

"Whats going on, why is everything pitch black?" I asked.

"Honey, you have lost your eyesight" My mum said softly.

My heart broke when I heard what she said, I'm blind?

"Well, temporarily lost your eyesight" Dad corrected.

"I'm temporarily blind? For how long?" I questioned.

"The doctors don't know son, but they will be talking to you before we transport you back to Sydney" Dad explained.

I just nodded and thought over what happened. Saleiah flipped us, she took her eyes of the road. This is all her fault. I could feel my anger building up. How could she be so irresponsible.

I heard a knock at the door. I took a deep breath before saying "Come in"

"Oh my god Ryan, I am so sorry" I could hear Saleiah crying as she shuffled closer to me.

"Don't come any closer. You did this to me. This is all your fault" I was so angry at her, my mouth didnt have a filter.

"Ryan, please talk to me" I heard her whisper.

"Saleiah, I can't see anything at all because you were not focused on the road! If i was driving this wouldnt have happened" I yelled at her not caring if it hurts her feelings.

"It was an accident, I didnt want this to happen on purpose Ryan, I really am truly sorry" She tried to apologise again.

I was getting fustrated with Saleiah "Saleiah, which part dont you understand, I dont want you near me, okay?"

"I think its best if you leave and go home Saleiah. Ryan needs rest" I heard my mum say.

"I love you Ryan, and I am really sorry. I didn't want this accident to happen" I heard her whisper.

I just turned my head and crossed my arms, not wanting to deal with her.

"Just so you know, I'm going home with my parents, when you get home I'll visit you okay" she said.

"Dont bother" I wanted her to understand that I was angry with her.

I heard her suck in a sob then she left. Good.

"Ryan, that was harsh" I heard my mum whisper.

"She made me blind. Of course I'm going to be harsh" I said still not cooling down from being angry.

"She hit a tree that was in the middle of the road. The storm was very heavy, there was no way that she would of missed it." Mum tried to explain.

"Mum, stop. I dont want to hear it" I whisper.

It was quiet then. Until the door opened and a voice I didnt recognise spoke.

"Hi Ryan, my name is doctor Scott. Can you remember what happened?" He asked.

"I got into an accident and now I'm blind." I muttered.

"Thats correct, your blindness is only temporarily. You should get your sight back within a month. We will be keeping you overnight for observation and then you will be transported back to Sydney." He explained.

"okay" I muttered again,

"Was there any other questions" He asked.

I shook my head.

"Okay, Ill see you later" he said as he walked out.

"Are you hungry son" I heard my dad asked.

"Yes i am" I sighed.

"Okay ill grab you something" he said and walked out.

A week had passed and it was hell. I couldnt feed myself, I needed help to shower. I just couldnt do anything, I wanted my eyesight back.

Saleiah had called me and I told her to leave me alone. I did feel bad but she made me blind. My mum told me that I had to go back to school tommorow.

"How am I meant to get around school Mum, in case you haven't noticed I'm blind" I said rudely.

"Son, cut that attitude out. You are only temporarily blind. I was going to hire someone but now I'm gonna call Saleiah and ask for her help" mum argued back.

"No, she has to stay away from me" I shouted.

"Why? She's your best friend?" Mum stated.

"Not since the accident" I muttered.

"You'll get over it" mum said sternly. "Now I have to go call Saleiah"

"I'll just ignore her" I said stubbornly.

"You do that, I'll take your car and PlayStation" she warned.

I just turned my head away from her and sighed. My day just keeps getting worse and worse. I don't want to deal with this anymore.
