Previously: "I know but you need the help. The sooner we get out the sooner I can get to the hospital and we won't be in danger." I looked down at the mess that I had caused and noticed a bunch of paperwork scattered everywhere. I sat down carefully and slowly looking through all the papers... "On second thought.... This could be something that we were looking for... Here's copies of old reports... Look at this one." I handed a page over to him at it was dated a few days after the party where our friends went missing.
"I have a question for you, Mark... Why have the carpets completely replaced every 2 months?"
He shook his head and said, "You look through these, while I try and find a way out. May be we can kill 2 birds with one stone."
"We'd better hurry... We don't know what will happen in this room after midnight."
Mark nodded and continued to look through the area back here. I sat there and looked through all the papers finding more and more disturbing reports from past guards and newspaper clippings. Three in particular caught my eye so I read them aloud so Mark could hear what they had to say.
"'Five children now reported missing. Suspect convicted. Five children are now linked to the incident at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where a man dressed as a cartoon mascot lured them into a back room. While the suspect has been charged, the bodies themselves were never found. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has been fighting an uphill battle ever since to convince families to return to the pizzeria. Quote, 'It's a tragedy' end quote.' Damn.... this is messed up... Here's another one. "'Local pizzeria threatened with shutdown over sanitation. Local pizzeria, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has been threatened again with shutdown by the health department over reports of foul odor coming from the much-loved animal mascots. Police were contacted when parents reportedly noticed what appeared to be blood and mucus around the eyes and mouths of the mascots. One parent alikened them to "reanimated carcasses."' I have kinda noticed that myself, but I thought it could have been a special kind of oil or something to keep the animatronics in working order."
"At first I thought the same thing, but it's the smell that gives it away." Mark said in reply to my spoken thoughts.
"Last one... 'Local pizzeria said to close by year's end. After a long struggle to stay in business after the tragedy that struck there many years ago, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has announced that it will close by year's end. Despite a year-long search for a buyer, companies seem unwilling to be associated with the company. Quote "These characters will live on. In the hearts of kids, these characters will live on" end quote. CEO... this article was dated 2 years ago... I wonder what location they were talking about or if it was this location.... I can't seem to find much else though." I folded up the articles and stuffed them in the jacket along with some more of the paperwork that was dated around the time Mark and I lost our friends. I knew that if nothing else this would help both of us figure out what happened to them.
"Y/N... I think I found something." Mark walked toward me as I did my best to put the jacket on and work my way into a standing position. It took me a bit, but I managed to do so. I carefully walked over as slowly as I could. When I lost my balance for a moment, the Puppet made sure I didn't fall. I looked at him and nodded. It held my hand and helped me to where Mark was standing with his hand over his mouth.
I followed his gaze and I almost fell over in pure shock. There before me was Spring Bonnie... limp and lifeless. "So this is where he's been..." I looked around and the Puppet pulled me in another direction. "What is it Puppet?" He pointed to a tall stack of boxes. "What's behind there?"
"Well... let's find out." After a few moments, Mark moved all of them aside and I couldn't believe what was there in front of me. The Puppet motioned for me to sit down. I had a feeling this was what Mark and I had been looking for. Proof... proof that our friends had been murdered. In the space behind the boxes was a bloody wrench, a clock in card, and several pieces of cloth... I recognized one of them as part of my friends shirt. These must have been the murderers trophies... the things that he kept from each of his victims.
I felt my stomach getting queezy, but I couldn't tear my eyes away. Why.... why our friends? Why here of all places? There had to be more to all of this. I glanced at Mark as a tear escaped my eye. I tried to take a deep breath, but instead I felt the contents of my stomach coming up. The Puppet looked at me and let out a sound of concern... I'm not sure how else to describe it. He floated over to a small trash can and handed it to me as Mark came to my side as well.
"Don't worry... we'll get him for what he's done... I'm gonna leave everything the way it is, but I'm gonna take some pictures." He rubbed my back lightly as I finished. The Puppet handed me a roll of toilet paper and vanished for a moment. I assumed he was going to dispose of the small trash can.
"Mark.... let's get out of here..." I looked at him wiping my nose and mouth, hoping he understood why.
Mark took the pictures really quick and helped me back up and out of the room.
Author's Note: Sorry it took me so long to update the story. Been going through some personal stuff and didn't have much access to the internet. Here's hoping the next chapter doesn't take as long. Also, if you have any theories about where you want the story to go from here... leave a comment and let me know.
