Previously: But he never came back.... that was the last time I saw him.
That's when I heard Mark slam down the security door to prevent Bonnie from coming in. My brain snapped back to the present. So I had met Mark before... when we were kids. Is that why I felt so calm around him?
I looked over at Mark the memory fresh in my mind. "It was you.... at Foxy's arcade game."
"Wait... you were the one I told all those in game tips too cause you kept sighing when you were looking at your friends score...." Mark's jaw dropped. "Well.... holy shit... It's been a while hasn't it." He rubbed the back of his neck and I had to smile.
"We should talk about this after our shift. Check the doors cause I think I heard footsteps."
"Got it boss," he said crossing his eyes and giving me a mock salute. I couldn't help but giggle at this as I checked the cameras real quick and that's when the rules in the east hallway changed once again. "OH GEEZ!" Mark shut the door to my right since Chica was at the door and opened the one on the left since Bonnie left.
I quickly grabbed the paper and flipped it over and wrote down the following:
Five Children Now Reported Missing. Suspect Convicted.
Five children are now linked to the incident at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where a man dressed as a cartoon mascot lured them into a back room.
While the suspect has been charged, the bodies themselves were never found.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has been fighting an uphill battle ever since to convince families to return to the pizzeria.
"It's a tragedy."
"Wow... I didn't know about this..." I quickly looked at Pirate's Cove and motioned for Mark to close the door since Foxy was out and on his way running down the hall. Mark closed it just in time so we could hear the THUMP THUMP THUMP on the door. I flipped the cameras down once again to make sure that we had enough power to last us since both doors were down and Chica was staring right at us when Mark checked the light.
"Mark... You may want to look at this one..." I handed the piece of paper over to him and looked at him as he read it. His expression turned sad as he continued to read. "Why did our parents hide this from us?"
"I have no idea, but they must have had a good reason," he said as he handed the paper back to me.
I got up and checked the lights. Chica was gone now so I opened the door. "My mom told me that my friend moved away... and I didn't really think much of it." I leaned on the desk and a tear rolled down my cheek. "There has to be a reason why they couldn't find our friends."
"I hope that eventually we will find out... but hopefully it's not what I'm thinking of..." Mark says as he checks the cameras. "WHAT THE HELL?!?" He quickly shuts the cameras off and jumps out of his chair.
"What is it?"I looked at him worried about what he had seen. Mark looked pale and disoriented. Like he had seen a ghost.
"I thought I saw something that shouldn't be there.... The pictures on the walls.... they were all of a retired character that I haven't seen in years. Something is trying to tell us something and I don't like it one bit."
I checked the cameras to see the pictures had changed to what looked like a crying child.
"Holy shit...." I looked at Mark and swallowed hard. I checked the door lights real quick to see no one was around, so I opened the doors. I glanced at the clock and noticed that it was only 3 am. I heard Chica once again in the kitchen and Foxy humming once again in Pirate Cove. Then I looked at our power meter. We were at 43%... If we were careful we might make it, but that was sketchy if Bonnie and Chica were to come by and stay there for any extended amount of time. I turned back to Mark trying to get my mind off of our current situation. "Who is that character anyway? I don't recognize it at all."
"It's a character that was only seen in one of the older locations. He was in the prize corner of their arcade, so I went there a lot since I played a lot of games there with my brother. Everyone called him the Puppet... but his official name was The Marionette. A lot of people thought that he was creepy as hell so they put him into storage. At least that's what I was told when I came to work here. He was my favorite back when I saw him every day..." Mark looked down to the ground and began to rub his neck.
"Don't worry about it. We'll figure this out as soon as we can." I went to him and hugged him quickly. "We're here together for a reason. It must have been fate that both of us were there for our birthday parties at the same time when we were kids... and that later in life that we meet again here. No matter what we will get through this and find out what the hell is going on here."
I gave him a smile and checked the door lights. Chica wasn't around, so I didn't pay much attention. I went over to the other one and Bonnie was staring at me from down the hall. I froze there for a moment... Bonnie tilted his head a bit like he recognized me, but then that's when his head started twitching uncontrollably. I shut the door before he got the chance to move closer, but I had a strange feeling about that moment.
"Ummm.... Mark.... Have you ever gotten the feeling that maybe the animatronics have spirits in them?" I looked at him trying to get a little reassurance that I wasn't going crazy.
He looked at me like he knew exactly what I was talking about. "That's happened with me and Chica before... I thought that it was just me, cause I've asked the other night guards and nothing like that has ever happened to them. You're the only other one..."
