"Alright, ready to go?" Hinata asked. He slung his bag over his shoulder and picked up his gun from the table.
"Ready when you are." I replied whilst gathering my things.
We walked to the gates together, for the first time in a while it was a proper sunny day. The sun was literally beating down on us. It's definitely an upgrade from yesterday's downpour. We bump into Daichi on our way to the car.
"Oh hey guys, heading off?" Daichi asked.
"Yep! We're heading west so we'll be gone a few days." Hinata said.
"Alright be careful. You don't know what might happen with the whole Iron Eagles situation. In fact you'd probably be safer out there rather than in here." Daichi said. Just those words alone remind me of the sick world were in, the fact that we're running from eachother rather than the monsters is a scary thing.
"Will do! Hold down the fort whilst we're gone okay!" Hinata smiled and off we go out into the world.

On out last loot we found a huge CD collection. All the classics. Hinata and I sang to keep ourselves entertained for the many hours drive we have ahead of us. The speeding car travels across the barren roads and by the time the sun had set we'd travelled at least a few hundred miles. Just as the sky turned black we parked behind a warehouse where it's quiet and settled down for the night. Of course it's not ideal sleeping in a car but it's all we've got.

"I'll get the pillows and blankets from the boot." I say. I exit the car and head around the rear towards the boot. Keeping a knife close just in case. I'm about to open to boot when I notice trucks, maybe four or five of them gathered in some kind of circle not too far away from us, and to what I can tell, there's people. I crouch down and watch closely, we're too far away to be able to hear them, but by their formation I'm guessing it's a meeting of some kind. A man stands in the middle of the group with his head held high. He's tall and buff, someone I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of by the looks of it. I crept back into the car slowly and closed the door quietly.

"What is it? Zombies?" Hinata asked, ready with his knife.
"No, people" I say, ushering Hinata to duck as I hear the trucks beginning to move. The trucks drive past without noticing us thankfully and start driving in the direction we came from.
"I wonder where they're heading." Hinata said.
"I don't wanna know..." I replied.
We finally tuck in for the night and push the seats of the car back as far as we can. Only a little bit left to go before we get to the west. Then the fun begins.

The next morning we wake up bright and early, ready to get looting. Just a couple more hours driving and we'd be in the west. We had a rough idea of what to expect, apparently there's this special kind of zombie that the locals like to call the weeper. It's a strong zombie, second strongest we know of actually. Apparently it's a female type zombie who's known to squeal or cry as it walks around. It has claws for nails and and is apparently extremely hard to kill. One swipe with those things and we're done for. We know to stay away if we hear her.

A couple hours and a hundred 90's songs later we arrive at our first location. It's a farm. We decided to come here because there may still be food or seeds and there could be guns. Shotguns specifically, Tanaka has been asking for one of those for a while now. Good luck finding ammo for it though.
We enter the farm house first and search all the rooms, it looked lived in. We thought there actually might be someone here until we entered the master bedroom. A dead man tied to all fours of the bed. A large wound in his chest, it was unclear what it was. Whatever happened here wasn't zombies, we kept our guard up. Unfortunately there wasn't anything special in the house, whoever had been here clearly knew what they were looking for. With our hopes high we moved onto the barn. I was just about the open the door when Hinata stopped me.
"Wait!" He yelled.
"What?" I questioned him.
"Listen." He said, pointing to the door. I swear the boy has super sonic hearing because I had to put my ear right up to the door to hear anything. It was exactly what I expected, crying. It's the crying of someone old, you can tell by how hoarse the voice is. I look at Hinata who's armed and ready to attack, were going to have to kill it or else we can't get inside. I mouth "3,2,1" to Hinata then I swing open the door and he starts shouting, we did our research. The best way to kill this thing is to begin shooting from a distance and get its attention as quick as possible. The further away it is from you when it dies is the better. I heard screaming from inside, one that was so high pitched you could feel your ears tingle. I brought myself around to help shooting but realise the weeper is running right towards us. She had multiple bullets lodged Into her chest but doesn't seem to back down. I look at her long nails and mistake them claws at first sight. They're huge. I doge the weeper and shoot her once more in the back. Yet again she doesn't seem to care. She turns and runs again, this time going for Hinata. He tripped over a rock and fell over himself. The screaming was too much for him to handle. She got way too close for comfort, I kicked it over until it fell onto the ground. Her claws tearing my jeans as she fell. Hinata finished the job with a bullet to the head.
"Let's just get out of here as soon as we can." I said.
"Yeah, i don't want to be here much longer." Hinata agreed.
