Chapter 22 - This is our Fight (Part 1/5)

"Hinata get your tiny ass in the car!" Sugawara yelled, his voice cracking as he looked at me through the rolled down car window. Everyone else's face struck with fear in the back seat. No one dared speak when Suga raised his voice.
I ran to the car, bag slung over my shoulder in a heaving mess. I was late, again. This time though it technically wasn't my fault. The water ran out half way through my shower and I had to run around my apartment naked trying to get the suds out of my hair. See? Not my fault. By the time I got to the car the engine was already starting and I honestly thought Suga was about to drive away. I flung myself into the car through the rolled down back window, slamming into Tsukkishima in the process. Loud groans echoed from the rest of the car which consisted of Noya, Asahi and Suga.
"S-sorry i'm late!" I panted whilst trying to catch my breath.
Asahi rolled his eyes, unsurprised by my usual mishaps. "We'll just have to speed to catch up with everyone." Asahi smiled, kicking into gear and speeding off out of the gates, giving a few honks for our departure. As we distanced ourselves from the gates I took one last glance back as they rolled shut. I hoped I would get to see them again. I hoped we all did.

Daichi and his group already left long before us, and should have been arriving at the Mint Water bade long before us. But due to Asahi's insane driving and a not so surprising lack of traffic, we actually caught up with them in no time.
We're en route to Mint Water to make a quick stop and pick up Oikawa's squad (and have a pee break but that doesn't make me sound cool) then we get back on the road and head straight to the Daylight Owls where we're spending the night. Then, tomorrow is the big day. Tomorrow I'll finally get to see his face again. Oh god I hope I get to see his face again.
As we pulled up beside Daichi's car the radio on Suga's lap crackled into life.
"Race ya." Daichi's hoarse voice hummed through the static.
Asahi looked at Daichi through his window, I could see him smirking in the mirror rear view mirror. Then I looked to Daichi who was giving that same shit eating grin straight back.
Out of no where, Asahi kicked into 5th gear I felt myself fall back into my seat from the force of him accelerating down the barren toad. Daichi was out of sight in seconds.
"Asahii!~" Suga yelped as he clung onto the overhead handle and any other surface he could grasp. But that didn't stop him, he only got faster as Daichi caught our tail. I could see them glancing at each other whilst trying to keep their eyes on the road when suddenly Asahi swerved and I felt my entire body smushing against the door, the cold glass against my cheek.
"What the fuck!" Sugawara squealed.
"Oops sorry, zombie." Asahi laughed.
"Haha zombie." Tsukkishima mocked, the whole ordeal obviously startled him too.
"Alright you win, let's not burn all the fuel we have?" Asahi said into the walkie talkie once he got control of the car again.
"Just because you lost." Daichi laughed.
"We almost just died!" Suga yelled.
"Suga, out of everything that's ever happened to us, that's the least likely you've ever been to die." Noya joked, but I don't think it settled very well.

As we sank back into silence, the reality set in. For me at least. The fact that we were literally on our way to massacre (or atleast try to) an entire group, but yet everyone was still so happy. I think it will kick in for everyone, soon. This is a mission on a far bigger scale than ever before. I mean I've, killed...before but not like this. This is new. I feel a swell of guilt start to form in my throat. But Kageyama, one of the main reasons we're all risking our lives. It's all for him. And he's worth it. Before long, the car turned completely silent, and the moods fell into a depressing state.

After another while in the hot car we finally pulled into the gates of the Mint Water base, this time Oikawa and Iwazumi were expecting us and were just finishing packing their cars by the time we pulled up.
Daichi stepped out of the car and met Iwazumi with a bro hug.
"You guys ready for this?" He said, his eyes beading.
Iwazumi looked back at Oikawa who flashed him a warm smile and softly took his hand in his grip. With a subtle squeeze Iwazumi was able to get the words out.
"We're ready." He nodded.
"I just can't wait to see the look on Hinata's face when we get his boyfriend back." Oikawa winked, making my face heat up.
"Thank you guys for this." I said from the car as everyone returned to their cars.
