It's been over a year since Jason Blossom died. It has been year since Betty cooper and Archie Andrews were labeled the heroes of Riverdale. But now Riverdale has come upon a new tragedy. Marcine Richmond went missing the day before school started again. Everyone thought they had this whole thing figured out but as more secrets come out of the darkness, no one knows what actually happened.

"Lieah, come on it will be fun." Marcine was standing on the each of the cliff ready to jump into Sweet Water River.

"I don't know Marcine it looks pretty dangerous."

"Oh Lieah, remember this is suppose to be the best summer ever after all the Jason blossom mess we just need to live life to the fullest, you'll never know what might happen to you next." Marcine has always been a daredevil. Every since Jason's death her motto was 'life is short so live it to the fullest.'

After she spent many minutes convincing me, I finally give in. "Remember were strong apart but unstoppable together," and then we jumped in. "Woah Marcine that was-" I stopped to catch my breathe and we spoke at the same time "amazing!"

We swam ashore to our towels. "Have you talked to Carter?"

Carter has been gone for three years. I know Marcine hates talking about him, she loves her brother but she said she could never forgive him.

"No, and to tell you the truth I don't think I want to."

"Marcine-" she stopped me.
"Lieah he, he killed your sister and father how can you just forgive that.

"Believe me Mar I think about it everyday, but he is your brother."

"He is a murderer."
She ended the conversation there and started talking about Archie Andrews.

"You know he is with Veronica, right Mar?"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, he is still the hottest guy in Riverdale."

"I don't know about that because my boyfriend Reggie is pretty darn cute."

"Sure, think whatever you want" She said with a smile on her face.

As we laid there and talked the sun began going down. "What time is it?"

"It's" I looked down at my watch "7:30."

"Crap, I have to go."

"Marcine you always leave at this time, what is so important that you have to leave so early."

"It's none of concern, call you later." She gave me a hug and a kiss on my cheek. She began walking, but stopped "here" she threw her brothers leather jacket to me "just in case I never see you again."

"Don't say that, Marcine I'll see you tomorrow bright and early for school.
She gave me a huge smile and her blonde locks went bouncing behind her into the darkness.

The next day I tried calling Marcine but there was no answer. "Hey Mar call me back. Look Marcine this is my fifth time calling you, I don't know if I did anything, but I'm sorry if I did." I finally get out of bed and change into a white skirt and a yellow blouse. I find the necklace Marcine and I have worn since 8th grade and put it on.

I go down stairs to find my mom passed out on the couch. She's been coming home really late really drunk. She always tells me it's none of my concern but how is it not when she's comes home screaming as if someone is killing her. "Mom" I shake her awake.

"What!"

"I'm going to Marcines house."

"I told I don't want you around the Richmonds" Blah, blah, blah, I have heard this so many times. She doesn't like the Richmonds, never as and I'm pretty sure she never will. It's been hard for my mom every since Morgan and dad died. She's been drowning her sorrows with drinking. Marcine says I'm masking my sadness behind my happiness, but I think that there is nothing wrong with being happy. "Well mom she's my best friend."
