Just a Chance

8 - Viral

Hey guy. Before I continue on I just want to make sure you guys understand this. In my story Rebecca and all of her friends are 17, Zach and the guys are all 18 (Yes I do know that Zach is 16, Corbyn is 18,  Daniel is 18, Jack is 17, and Jonah is 19 in real life). Okay! Now that that's cleared up: Chapter Eight in 3... 2... 1... Enjoy!

Rebecca's POV

Giovanna came up to me with her books in her arms and Corbyn by her side. "So I see you got your car back."

"Yeah and it's about time." 

The three of us walked into school and all of a sudden something popped into Corbyn's mind that he needed to jump up before he said it. "Guys I almost forgot. When the concert comes around be sure to record it and post it on the school's website. Ok? Ok."

Both Giovanna and I looked at each other with confused faces on. "Sure? By the way... Giovanna you're going to record it." The bell rang and I began to walk to class. "Bye." As I turned the corner I felt my phone vibrate: 'Zach - meet me outside after school' Right than and there while reading the text I bumped into someone. "Sorry." I looked up and saw... Zach. "Oh... Hey."

"What's up?"

"Sky?"

"What?"

"Never mind." I saw that he was completely ignoring the fact the he texted me so I just, brought it up. "So. I got your text."

"Oh... O - Ok." I looked down at his hands. Shaky? What? Why? What's happening? 

"Did you need to tell me anything?"

"I just wanted to -" The late bell rang. "- Nothing just forget about it." Weird.

***The Next Week***

Half of the school was hyped while the other half looked like they wanted to die. I was in the first group. Why wouldn't I be excited to see my friends... Crush?... Friend?... The guys preform in their first concert thing. "Ok class. You are dismissed, but! It's only for you to go to the auditorium and support your friends in their first concert. If I catch you anywhere else, writeup." Everyone ran out the room. Of course there was going to be people not going to the auditorium but I didn't care. One: It was their decision; Two: I don't wanna be a snitch.

Once I entered the auditorium I saw some parents, like the usual, and everyone was wishing the people in choir good luck. "Hey Rebecca! Over here!" I turned my head to the super familiar voice. I went over and sat with my group of friends. Giovanna, Ava, Sarah, and Jessica. "Good luck babe." Giovanna said hugging and kissing Corbyn. We all smiled at how cute they looked together. Corbyn ran off and Giovanna took a seat next to Ava.

"Welcome to our very first concert everyone!" The principle began. "I am very proud to announce -"

"Zach is really nervous if you haven't noticed Rebecca." Giovanna stated trying to face me with Ava in between us. 

"Yeah I can see that."

"No he's not nervous because of the concert, he's nervous to ask -"

Ava shut us up by saying, "Maybe me and you should switch." Ava and I did as she suggested.

"As I was saying: He's not nervous because of the concert, he's nervous to ask you a very important question."

"What question?"

"Shhh! It's starting." Great. What the flip is everyone talking about that's such a secret? Giovanna held up her phone up and began to record the boys but nothing else.

***After the Concert***

The parents gave a standing ovation while, us, the students were being students. Everyone that preformed got off stage and into the hands of there loved ones: parents, siblings, girlfriend / boyfriend. 

I watched as Jessica and Sarah left to their next class. Ava talking to Daniel, Jack, and Jonah. Giovanna meeting Corbyn's parents. What! Giovanna is meeting Corbyn's parents for the first time! That's way to cute! They're so going to get married when they get out of high school. I looked over to Zach. Sitting on the flight of stairs to go onto the stage. Looking down at his phone with an expressionless face on. I slowly walked over and sat next to him. "Hey."

"Hey Rebecca... B - Becky?... Beck? Sorry. I'm just kind of... Out of it today."

"If you don't mind me asking: Why?"

He stood up and began to walk as he explained. "Well my dad is out of town for this thing in his job and my brother is sick, and if you know my mom, you'll know she won't work until he gets better."

"Well I can see why you a little out of it." I said through a tiny bit of laughter trying to lighten the mood. We stopped to face each other. "But besides that, you did amazing." Amazing. Well that's not a strong word at all. 

"Thanks." 

That's when it happened.

We hugged!

For the first time!

Ahhh!

We both awkwardly disbursed from the hug, considering it was our first, and heard the famous 'Awww!' and 'Owww!''s coming from everyone. Both Zach and I faced them and said, "Stop." while rolling our eyes. 

Jonah peered his head in and said, "Just ask her the question dude."

I slowly turned to face Zach. "What question?"

"Would you -"

"Ahhh!" Ava yelled while staring down at her phone. "The video went viral! You guys are practically famous by now!" 

"No way!" Everyone gathered around Ava checking at what was going on.

I guess I'ma find out what that question is... Never.
