It's true. You'd spent most of your time on land so when you accepted the Assassin's offer to join him in glory and plunder, you didn't quite realize just how unaccustomed to a ship you'd be.

It had only been a few days out on the crystal blue ocean, but man, you were feeling it. The constant swaying of the Jackdaw over the waves only served to turn your stomach as well. You'd hardly eaten for fear of losing it. Afraid of doing much else, you spent a lot of your time in the captain's quarters with books that you'd brought with you. That didn't help much either, reading on a boat that rocked back and forth.

Giving up on your book, you tossed it aside cringing as it fell to the hardwood floor with a thud. You sat back and tried to relax, closing your eyes to try and will away the feeling of nausea. You only opened them again when you heard the creaking of the door being opened and you turned to see said Assassin walking towards you.

"Feeling alright lass?" He asked, a mixture of amusement and concern in his voice. "You've holed yourself up here for three days now, hardly eating or walking around." You shrugged in reply and grabbed the glass of water on the table next to you, sipping it slowly.

"Haven't been feeling the best, Edward." You admitted. "Not since I stepped foot on this ship." As you said that a particularly large wave was hit, making you and your stomach jolt slightly. It suddenly dawned on him.

"Ah, a bit of seasickness is it? You'll get over it in no time, come up on the deck with me, some fresh air will do you good." He said and he held out his hand for you. You took it and stumbled to your feet. Your bare feet made quiet sounds against the wood as you followed him out onto the deck, the bright sunlight hurt your eyes.

The air smelled heavily of salt but it wasn't awful and it was almost welcome. Around the two of you, crew members both worked and lazed around. It was a quiet day, not much to be done. You looked out over the edge of ship, watching the waves lap gently at the sides, they had calmed now. The water was a bright aqua blue and it looked very refreshing in the hot warmth of the summer day.

"Fancy a swim?" Edward asked from behind you, one of his arms draped around your waist while his chin was rested on your shoulder.

"I suppose I wouldn't mind that." You replied, your queasiness had thankfully begun to subside.

"Ade!" Called the Assassin, "Lower the anchor, we'll be staying here for a while." The dark skinned man did as was asked without question. You turned around to see Edward already beginning to the loosen the straps of his robes, removing his weapons. He grinned as he caught your eye. This continued until he remained only in trousers.

"See something you like?" He teased, a laugh bubbling from him as he saw the blush spread across your cheeks. You were still completely dressed in one of Edward's shirts and a pair of trousers made to fit you. You didn't exactly feel like stripping down especially since you didn't quite trust the crew yet.

"Well," he gestured the water below, "ladies first." You rolled your eyes at him and moved around the railing so that you could easily jump it. After a moment of slight hesitance you dove into the warm clear water. You stayed underwater for several seconds before surfacing, waiting for Edward to follow.

The Assassin grabbed onto one of the ropes walking backwards a bit to get a running start before swinging on it, ending with a dive into the water next to you.

"Show off." You said when he came up beside you, laughing at the hair hanging in his face. He brushed it aside splashed you without warning.

"Hey!" You cried out as the water hit your face. "Bastard." The Assassin grabbed onto your wrists with one hand so you wouldn't be able to splash him back.

"Now, that's no language for a lady." You scoffed at his comment.

"Oh whatever, if I were truly a lady I wouldn't be here right now." You replied, pulling your hands free to retaliate against him. Several minutes of this turned into nearly an hour until the two of you had grown tired. With Edward's help, you climbed back onto the ship, trying to wring the water from your hair.

"There, feeling a bit better now?" He asked and you smiling up at him, as he pulled you into an embrace.

"Much better." You said, standing on your tiptoes to give him a quick peck on the lips.
