"Baby wake up. Its time to go now."
I slowly opened my eyes, wanting so badly to close them again, but it was near dawn.
I sat up. This club house was a life saver. I snatched the quilt off my lap and stood up. My leg began to give out on me, until I regained control.
My whole entire body was sore and aching. The cuts on my feet had swelled up, and the knee scrapings were big scabs and bruises.
I walked to the entrance and started down the hand built ladder.
I could just picture him building it, all of this. His concentrated expression.
Once I got to the ground I started jogging, wincing every time my bare feet came across a rock or sharp object.
I jogged for about forty-five minutes. I had no idea how to get to the the main road. Kyran kept talking about the main road and following it somewhere, but I couldnt remember where exactly.
Tell me which way to go, I asked Kyran. There was no answer. Please! And still, nothing.
I kept jogging straight ahead. I was pacing myself, until I felt a sharp pain in my ribs.
"Ahh!" I cried out as a came to a stop.
My legs felt as if they would give up at any moment. I ran my hand across my rib and I could feel the soreness from the bruises she made by kicking me.
I kneeled to the ground, and tried to catch my breath. There were huge tension knots on my shoulders and lower back. I gasps as a rubbed at them. It was probably going on seven in the morning now and I was so dehydrated.
I swallowed hard to secrete moisture to the back of my throat.
It was very cold still but I was sweating my ass off. I started back running holding my breath for a moment, before releasing the air.
I pushed through bushes and branches, hopped over boulders and swam through streams before I made it to the road.
I bent over to catch my breath. The relief of finally making It here was overwhelming. I cried. The tears stung my open lesions on my face, from being smacked in the face by branches and her.
The few people that passed by in their cars looked at me like I was a mysterious animal that had never been discovered. I understood why though. I was covered in mud, my curly hair had twigs and leaves in it and I was bare foot and all beat up.
It was probably going on ten a.m. and I was beginning to feel sort of dizzy. I walked as far as I could before I had to sit down.
I set on the edge of the road with my head in my hands. My mouth began to get watery and I felt like I was going to throw up. I quickly got to my hands and knees and began to gag, but nothing came out.
I sat upright and laid my head on my knees. I can't make it. I just can't.
"You can Amaia, just get up."
I couldn't even try to get up. My body wouldn't let me. It had locked down completely.
"Come on baby get up."
That was the last thing I heard before everything became black.
