She had been sleep for two hours. I was a hour and a half away from Boiland.

I had no idea where I was going to to drop her off at and I had a strong feeling she didn't neither.

I glanced over at her. She was leaning on the door with the side of her face smashed against the window. Her mouth was slightly open and I could hear a faint snore.

I smiled to myself, then quickly drawed back feeling foolish. Damn. I thought, seeing how messy her hair was.

There were small twigs, leaves, dirt, and who knew what else she could have been sheltering. It was thick and very tangled. It was a deep dark brown and stretched down her back until it disappeared underneath the jacket that puddled at her waist.

Damn shit load of hair, I thought. Her feet had blisters and scratches.  Suddenly she twitched, so I looked away, out at the road. I could see from my peripheral vision that she just adjusted herself.

I was so bored that I reached across her to the glove compartment and pulled out my cell. I turned it on and there was eight missed calls and five messages, all from Taylor. Ugh.

*Ring Ring*

The phone started right before I could shut it back down. Amaia was startled awake.

"Oh..uhh. My bad." I said pressing reject.

"What..What is that?" She asked squinting. "Its my phone." I said holding it up.

She reached over and grabbed it. She looked at it like she never seen one. "Wow. I've never actually seen one of these." she said turning the screen on.

What!! I thought. "wait. So you never had a cell phone? Let alone seen one?" I questioned.  She looked at me and shook her head. "Damn, girl."

She slid her finger across to open it, then gasped in amazement. "So who are you going to be staying with once we get to Boiland?" I said after she gave me the phone.

She looked at me then down at her finger. "Uh..well I was thinking..." she started. I held my breath because I had a feeling where she was going with this. "Maybe you could let my stay the night at your place-" "-whoa ok wait look." I interrupted.

I didn't know what to say. I definitely could take her to my house and risk Taylor stopping by and... whoa no. Definitely not! "I really don't think it would be a good idea to bring you to my house." I said without looking at her.

I could see her out the corner of my eyes turn away from me and slouch, like she had no hope.

"You have absolutely no family out this way?" I asked hoping for an positive answer.

"Uh, no." she said sitting up straight, then slouched again. "But it's ok though. I will just wander the streets."

I looked at her confusingly. What is she tryna pull? I thought.

"I'm pretty sure I'd run into to some, kind women.." she paused then looked at me "or man.. who would lend a helping hand." she finished with her right hand balled up in the middle of her breast.

I shook my head from side to side, "really?" I laughed. She revealed her beautiful smile. It was warm and comforting. I couldnt draw myself away.

"Look out!!" she screamed, clenching the dash board.

My heart stopped.

The deer tried to jump out the way but it had been too late.

All I heard was the sound of screeching tires and crumbling. Then nothing.
