I remembered how I programmed it to start, so I didn't even need to look up from the floor.

Three enemies solidified in front of me and took their battle stance. They wouldn't attack, and the timer wouldn't start until I made a move. So I did.

I threw a knife from each hand and nailed the two end targets in the forehead, then used my hidden chain (a stiletto knife with a retracting rope attached to my hidden blade) on the remaining target, pulled him in, and silenced it with a hidden blade to the jugular. The three dissipated into pixels as ten more targets formed and attacked me.

I made use of my newly made submachine guns and sprayed lead through them, until they dropped and I ran dry of ammo.

Twenty more enemies.

I unsheathed my sword and extended it. I decapitated, dismembered, and killed everything until all that was left were the pixel remains.

Thirty-five enemies.

I switched my sword into knife mode and stabbed, swiped, and cut my way through their ranks and they dissipated.

Fifty enemies.

This was a slight challenge. So I threw my smoke bombs until all of the enemies were unseeable. And then I used my secret weapons. My hidden flames (miniature wrist-mounted flamethrowers) lit up the gas and burned through them until all were gone. Now for the final round.

One hundred enemies.

Awe yeah. This was what I call a fight! I extended both hidden blades, unsheathed my sword, and pulled out my machine gun rifle. I brained, gouged, and demolished everyone else on the battlefield till I was the final one standing. But one, leg-less pixel man was crawling away. I used my hidden gun to send him back to ones and zeros.

As I left the Digital Arena, I looked at the scoreboard and it said that I killed 218 enemies in 74 seconds! A new record! I always beat all 218 enemies but I like experimenting with it.

When Sloan went, he, not very shockingly, beat all 218 enemies as well, but in 61 seconds. He was always better at close combat and open combat, when I was always more of a stealth, long range combat kind of guy.

The next bunch of combatants was a blur. Nobody really seemed to stand out to me.

Until Jack went.

He decided to give it a shot if somebody got him the right equipment. I got him a pair of hidden blades, and a silenced pistol, and a bit of armour, the typical recruit items. He went in and said to set the difficulty to rank 10 level. Assassin level.

We did as requested and started the round.

As soon as the first three solidified, he killed them with his blades. When the ten came in, he did moves unseen before in the brotherhood, like rolling under legs, then jumping onto their back and stabbing them.

The stunned crowd watched as the new recruit made it up to 184 kills in 82 seconds before being overwhelmed. When he exited the chamber, everyone cheered for him in awe.

"Jack! Why didn't you say you had experience in fighting?" I asked.

Jack didn't say anything, he just looked mortified.

"Hey! What's up? You feeling alright?" I ask.

"I don't know, just not feeling good I guess," Jack said.

"Alright, it's been a long day. And by the way, I think you might have just been inducted into the brotherhood," I say, purely proud of my recruit.

I check my watch: 10:52 p.m.

"Alright everyone! Listen up. It's been a long day of hard work, it's time for human recharging. People staying here, head to the barracks down the hall, and see you tomorrow to everyone else!" I yell to the assassins.

Sloan, the assassins that go to their own homes, and I head up in the elevator together and they leave. Leaving just Sloan and I, in our massive house/bureau.

"Where did you find this guy again?" Sloan asks.

"Just on the Toronto streets. Why?" I reply.

"So we can find more recruits with such talent."

"Hm. Makes sense I guess," I stifle a yawn. "Better get off to bed. Really tired."

"Alright goodnight man."

"Night."

And with that, I go to my bedroom and fall asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
