Kellin's POV

I sprinted out of my house as fast as I could, knowing it was a situation I couldn't handle myself. My car keys were back inside the house so that meant I couldn't go back and get them. The only option was to run; and that I did.

"Kellin! Get back here!" Johnny screamed from inside my house and of course, I didn't listen.

To add to this dramatic incident, thunder rumbled through the air and I could feel a few heavy raindrops hit my shoulders, but that was the least of my worries.

I could hear heavy footsteps pounding after me but in the distance. I couldn't risk looking over my shoulder but I did make a sharp turn into the woods to throw off my attacker. After both of my boots had hit the pine-needled ground, my sprint had become maximum full speed and for an extra precautionary measure, I zig-zagged around trees and turned to random direction to make sure I wasn't followed.

But of course, doing this would insure me to being lost and that is what I was, absolutely lost in the middle of the woods in the now pouring rain.

My once disheveled hair was stuck to my face and due to the lack of a jacket, I was shivering in the cold. I was slowing down to a walk and wrapped my arms around myself to try to get at least an ounce of warmth through my body. I was starting to wish that I had worn pants instead of my floral skirt that was torn and wet from the branches, rain, and Johnny.

I wanted to cry. I wanted to cry and sob and fall to my knees in defeat because that's how I feel. Defeated.

I had such a great day with my friends at the mall, the best fun I've had in a very long time, in fact. But right when I get home, I get pushed up against the wall by my neck and was faced with Johnny who fumed with anger. I thought that I wouldn't have to deal with him again, I wouldn't have to go through this anymore, but look how wrong I was.

I decided to keep on walking; travel until I could find some shelter or the open road. I could tell that it was already getting dark since I could still see the lightly clouded sky above the trees and that meant it was going to get significantly colder. My hands started to rub the ice cold skin that covered my arms and a desperate attempt to have heat, there was no prevail. The only thing on my mind was to somehow get out of the woods, but then there was the sudden crunching of slow footsteps approaching me.

Two thoughts immediately popped into my head as it went to the conclusion of possible help or that Johnny had somehow found me. Right now, I'm up for anything to get me out of this cold rain.

"H-Hello?" I called out, shivering from the cold.

The footsteps got closer and a distinctive, scratchy and slow voice had responded, "¿Qué?" (What?)

"C-Can you help me?" I begged, "I-I'm lost and c-c-cold. It would be most ap-p-preciated if you-"

I squinted my eyes through the rain and noticed that the figure was limping slowly. Immediately, my concern was to him as I assumed he was injured.

"Se supone que debes estar escondido, joven" the voice croaked and I realized that it wasn't English. (You're supposed to be hiding, young one)

"I-I'm sorry, I don't understand? A-Are y-y-you hur-"

I was frozen with fear, seeing the figure come closer. It wasn't human... it what was left of one.
