The events that happened yesterday became blurry after I came back from the girls' shower room. I think I went to the office and took a slip to go home and return at 1 pm?
Anyways, when I went home, Aunt Betty got furious and kept asking who did it. It seems that Mrs. Flora had reported what happened. They are close friends, after all. As happy I am to say who, my conscience stopped me from saying so. Aunt Betty will do anything to beat up the ones who mess with me. She's done it before, too. When I got beaten up in Kindergarten by the 3rd Graders for picking a fight with one of their so-called "Boss". He stole my freaking journal! Who. Does. That?? Aunt Betty kept asking me who it was and of course, the kid me got so scared of what might happen if I said no, admitted that the guys in 3rd Grade did it and she immediately called my class adviser. I do not know what really happened but the day after that, the 3rd Graders were nowhere to be found.. until I realized they were avoiding me. Well, at least they won't keep taking my stuff and beating me up.
This time, it was different.
"Pig's blood?? Freaking pig's blood! This has gone too far, Keira!! What the heck is going on in your school? Why does everybody seem to be making you their target for their ridiculous schemes?" Aunt Betty said.
"I don't know.. I-"
"I promised your mother I'd take really good care of you. Am I being a really good aunt right now?" Aunt Betty was freaking out.
"No, you ARE a great aunt, Aunt Betty! You've taken care of me this whole time!" And it's true. My parents were always busy with work. Aunt Betty didn't seem like the type to go on dates and make babies, so she asked mom if she could take care of me while they were away. My mom didn't have any second thoughts upon agreeing.
"But why do you keep getting hurt.. where did I go wrong..." she sat down on the sofa.
I put my bag down and sat beside her. She's always been there for me when no one really did. She knows she's an awesome aunt and I could not find any reason to disagree. Sure, she can be quite bossy at times and.. really.. loud, but I love her nonetheless. I hugged her as I remembered the great things she has done for me.
She hugged back, kissing my forehead and wiped her teary eyes. "But I'm still gonna have to ask for who did it, you know."
"Can't we just.. you know, let it slide?" I said as I let out a faint laugh.
"Uh.. no. Name, please?"
"Why, so you can beat him up like what you did before?"
"Yes. These highschoolers have got to stop behaving like children."
I sighed. I don't want her to cause so much trouble and exhaust herself by doing so. Also, she has to stop worrying about me. I gotta think of something quick.
".. I'll do something about it."
She raised her eyebrow. "What?"
"I can't keep letting you stand up for me, Aunt Betty. It's my life. I don't want you to keep worrying about me." I stood up.
"What are you talking about?"
"I mean, I'm gonna have to stand up for myself. I'll... I'll.. go and bring justice to that guy."
"You.. will?" Aunt Betty asked, discouraged.
"Just trust me on this! I'll do something about him. I promise you, he'll stop bothering me once I have my sweet revenge." Just thinking about torturing him makes me feel so giddy.
"Okay then. I trust you. But if ever you get hurt again by that guy, I'm gonna have to do something about him, whether you like it or not." Aunt Betty said as she stood up and went towards the kitchen. "Want some lasagna?"
