this was the happiest they've ever been.

dallon finally "kissed the bride" (and everyone laughed when the ordained minister said that), and picked brendon up over his shoulder to carry him back down the aisle to the reception. brendon's quiet giggles turned into loud laughter.

"dally, put me down!" he managed through laughter. dallon put him on his feet and pressed a soft kiss on his nose for good measure. "you still pick me up like that. after six years," they both laughed.

their guests filed in and everyone sat down and settled themselves in to eat. by halfway through the reception, brendon had effectively cleaned every bit of cake off of both of them, they had their first dance, brendon sang to dallon, and everyone had been dragged onto the dance floor for at least one song.

brendon had dallon's hand in his over the table, like they had when they had each other over to meet their parents, like they had on the date that they became boyfriends.

dallon raised brendon's hands to his lips and kissed it gently, causing brendon to smile and look at him.

he saw his beloved smile back and he saw a knife to his newlywed's throat and he saw the knife quickly slit his husband's throat. then, he felt his smile fall and he felt a knife to his own throat and he felt the knife slit his throat.
