It all started while I was in the living room with my family. We were all laughing and having a great time. It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving so we all decided to crack open the apple cider a little bit early. I breathed in the sweet fumes of the bubbly drink and the fire cracking the wood apart as the music blasted in the background. I was filled with happiness and I knew this was a memory I would cherish, or so I thought...

As I breathed in these sweet fumes and laughed along with my family, glad to be a part of such wonderful people, it had seemed the music faded, and everything blurred. This demon looking boy, hair white and teased, a mad look on his face and revenge that lay deep in his piercing red eyes. He looked directly at me and at no one else but me. I was in deep panic, but found it weird that none of my family members had stopped to notice this or simply let out a little yelp. But when I turned around, everyone had gone. They'd disappeared. And I was all alone with this creature, a smug grin spread across his lips. In the eerie silence, he broke it by saying, "Want to play hide and seek? I'll give you a head start, that way its more fair for you, and more fun for me". He let a chuckle escape his lips while I kept the scream from escaping my mouth. He slowly started to count to ten as I dashed up the stairs. I then ran into my room and tried to lock the door, but the lock failed to clasp into the door frame. Filled with fear, I was ready to except death. I knew he would come before I could escape into the next room. But, for some reason, I decided to do it anyway. After several moments of hesitation and nail-biting decisions, I quickly slipped into the next room. Perhaps I had waited too long, though, as I could here his thundering steps pounding up the stairs. He had seen me before I went into the next room. I then quickly threw as much furniture in front of the door as I could and I opened the window. I didn't want to die, so I braced myself and slid down the roof, landing firmly on the tough cement. Although my ankles were hurt rather awfully, I ran as fast as I could to wherever my feet took me. I ran until I was wheezing and couldn't possibly breathe anymore. I was alone, at midnight, looking at the night sky, wondering what I could ever do to get myself out of this mess, or rather, how I ever even got myself into it.
