As I looked up at the sky, feeling lost, terrified, my eyes focused on the few twinkling stars that had survived the city light. Where would I go now? I kept walking, in hope that I would find someone who was willing to help me, though it was unlikely. I ran up to this woman and asked "Please, can you help me?". At this point tears were rolling down my face, though only a few as the rest were held back behind my lashes. She looked at me, seeming surprised.

"Whoa.. we gotta get you back home!"

"No! Anywhere but there. Please, I'll explain later.."

"Oh... alright".

I was extremely surprised when she gave in, but grateful even more so. We packed a few necessities, water, clothes, food, and then we got into her car and she drove far away. I knew I could never pay her back with anything.

After a while I had finally nodded off, and she was happy I had FINALLY gotten some sleep. It was to the point of worrying about my health because of the amount of sleep deprivation. When I woke up, she'd said we were almost there.

"Where exactly are we going?" I asked.

"You'll see." She turned up the music on the radio and was singing along, which made me smile. When she noticed I was smiling, she looked back at me and said, "Sometimes in your worst moments, you still have to enjoy the cherished memories that are to be made". I kept that quote in the back of my mind for the remainder of the trip.

When we finally arrived, I examined the place that we'd stopped at.

"This is my distant panic room" She explained, "I thought I'd make one outside of my home just in case if I needed to be out of it... you can see I'm quite the cautious person".

It was a small room-like cave on the side of a mountain. It was lit with a few torches and there was room for a fire pit. Two blankets were scrawled across the floor. The little cave had mostly been cleaned out, let alone one or two vines here and there.

"Whoa... This is amazing" I was in awe. How long had she been working on this?

"So," she said, interrupting the silence, "explain to me why we're both here, and don't leave out a single detail".
