I woke up around 4 am. I lazily slumped around the motel room and made a cup of coffee. I sat down on the couch,  just drowning in my thoughts. I remembered when everything was okay. I didn't even know if my family was okay, or at least, alive! How did I get myself in to this mess, and more importantly, how do I get myself out of it. I felt a pitiful feeling towards Hazel, I dragged her into this. She could  be spending Thanksgiving with her family today, but instead she's here with me in a motel trying to hunt a demon.

I didn't know that the last hug I gave my mom would be my last. I didn't know the last joke I told to my sister would be the final one. I didn't know that I would never be able to cuddle my pets again or play my music box while laying on the floor in my room. If I'd known, I would've made the most of it. But it's too late now.

A few hours later, Hazel stirred awake. I had been walking around the room at this point and she saw me come in from the kitchen. "Hey kiddo" she said, sitting up as she stretched her arms back.  I simply waved in return. "We should hit the road soon. This isn't the most anonymous of places if you know what I mean".

I agreed with her and we gathered our stuff after brushing our teeth and left. "We can drive until we find somewhere safe" Hazel said. I smiled and gazed out the window.
