Chapter Three

I looked behind me only to find a tall, full man with a white beard wearing a white shirt, white jeans, and white shoes. He smiled a bright white smile while patting my shoulder with his white-hair covered hand. Everything about this man was white, except for his light gray hair, eyebrows, tan skin, and blue eyes.
"Hello, Melli," he said, taking his hand off of my shoulder and extending it to me, "come. Come with me. I will help you." In that moment, I was so vulnerable. So scared. I realize now, if I hadn't gone with the white man I would have been in a terrible, horrible situation.

I reached feebly for the man's hand, glancing over at my parents while doing so. They were still huddled at the door, probably making arrangements with the men who took Jenne away to have this all never be mentioned again. They actually care more about themselves than their daughter Jenne. Even though she was taken over by her demons, I still loved her. It was the right and just thing to do.

The man slung me over his muscular shoulder and I sighed. He threw some sort of golden stone at the wall and vanished into it, taking me with him. The feeling in that portal of light could only be described as pure bliss, warmth and joy. I felt such contentment in that space that when we arrived where the man wanted to be, I just wanted to go back so badly that I blindly jumped off his shoulder and ran to the portal. It closed before I could reach it and I ran into a dense bush instead. I sneezed and realized that I was face first in a blue lily. Which doesn't exist. I sat up and focused my eyes on the splendor that beheld me. Pure crystal blue skies spanned across the horizon, and plentiful, lush grass followed the line of the sky, mapping out a beautiful world. Flowers dotted the landscape and willow trees danced to the gentle wind. We were standing on a path of brick, leading to nowhere.. I turned around and asked the man staring at me, "where am I?"

He responded simply, "Heaven. The place of dreams and life. Now, let me take you to meet your brothers and sisters."

"I only have one sister, Jenne," I said, shocked. "She's on the Higher Earth." One thing stuck out to me as my mind fumbled for a reason why this man would take me to Heaven; Jenne said before when she was inhabited by demons that I was an angel.

"No, we are all your brothers and sisters. Mell, if you don't mind me calling you that, Mell, you are one of the many angels our Father God has created to protect the Planet Earth, as it is called in Heaven, and the Higher Earth, from being overrun by demons and evil entities. Mell, you are an angel."

I gasped. Me! An angel? I couldn't be. I have always fit in my family. They have loved me. Jenne loved me, before she was taken. "I don't un-understand," I stuttered. "How? They loved me. My family loved me. They wanted what's best for me. JENNE loved me. How?"

The man smiled at me and chuckled. "Mell. My sister. Every man and woman created by God to fulfill His heavenly purpose of protection is a sibling. We are all connected. I feel your doubts, your uncertainty. I felt the same things when I found out my destiny at your age. I was loved by a family like yours. Then, a man similar to myself called me. He helped me. I'm helping you. Please help me help you. Let me take you to meet your sisters; your brothers. Come."

I shuddered, thinking over my options. I had two. Run away or go with the currently kind man. My so called brother. I chose the second option. His explanation seemed sincere. I could see it in his baby blue eyes. I uncrossed my arms and gave him my hand. Maybe I'll go through the warm portal again.

"I still don't understand, and I probably never will. But take me with you and I will attempt to understand-" I paused, wanting to know his name.

"Raphael," he shot back, grabbing my hand and pulling me into the lush field. We passed daisies, roses, lilac, hydrangeas, every flower imaginable as I tried to process... Raphael. THE Raphael. One of God's most respected angels. I couldn't process how he went through the same things I was going through now. He left his family, he was called to be one of God's right hand men. He missed his family like I did. Sweet smells of spring flowed into my nostrils as Raphael started to run through the field, pulling me with him.

Raphael. The angel.

My angel brother.

Brother. All connected. All angels connected.
Suddenly, I felt a golden pull on my chest and I closed my eyes to see angels welcoming me to Heaven, greeting me as their sister. I smiled, having felt this only once when I held my baby sister for the first time. Jenne. Her name broke me out of the greeting and I gasped. She's my sister. I'm not their sister. I'm not an angel. I'm not an angel. I'm not an angel.

"Please, explain to me why I'm an angel. Please, please help me understand," I pleaded. Raphael sensed my discomfort, and placed me in his strong arms, his beard flowing over my face as he galloped through the flowers and reeds.

"I will explain better when we gather in the presence of my comrades, your comrades you have not met yet. Michael will help me in my explanation. You will learn, my sister. You will learn." Suddenly, Raphael stopped in his tracks. I was still stunned by his words. Michael? The archangel Michael who fought on the Higher Earth's dimension against the evil in Hell. I bet he'd help me understand. He would help ANYONE understand.

Raphael set me down onto a cool surface. I looked down to see rose gold marble greet my eyes. And when I looked up, a beautiful, beautiful man also greeted me. He had flowing blonde hair, beard and mustache, green eyes and a brown toga with a tan waistband and tan fabric bracelets on his wrists. He was carrying a sword of fire which he carefully sheathed when he saw me. He raised one eyebrow and smirked.

"Hello, Melli. I am Michael."
