Time passed silently, and stiffly. Neither one of them said a word to each other, only silent glances were exchanged, then quickly disregarded.
Blue even opened her mouth to speak, but quickly shut it again as the door leading to the courtroom slid open. Both of the Diamond's pearls would step inside.
"Your presence has been requested." The yellow pearl said in a nasally tone, barely looking at the two of them. The Zircons both began to step forward before blue pearl meekly addressed them.
"Just...Blue."
"Oh...um, yes, of course." Sweat had already begun to bead up on her forehead as she stepped to the doorway, stealing a desperate glance back at Yellow, who raised an eyebrow with a coy smirk. Blue did not appreciate this expression.
As she left the safety of that small room, her jaw dropped. The court was a mess. There were multiple holes in the wall, the palanquin was gone, there was rubble strewn everywhere, and possibly the most terrifying thing in the room, Yellow Diamond herself.
She was pacing, pacing, switched directions and stomped off that way and repeated the process. Her face was contorted in rage. Blue Diamond sat in her throne, obviously displeased, but looking at Yellow with some disgust.
"M-my Diamonds..." The Zircon squeaked, folding her arms in the salute and bowing her head. She tried to hide the fact that her legs were shaking uncontrollably.
Yellow paused and turned her head ever so slightly towards the quivering gem. Blue beckoned for her to return to her throne, which she did after a moment of looking over Zircon.
The Diamond's eyes seemed to bore right through her gem, only worsening her shakes.
"You put up a strong argument this case." Yellow finally spoke, her tone demanding, but quiet for the time being.
"Wh...th-tha-"
"And that was your first mistake."
Zircon wished with everything that she had that she was still poofed, that Blue would speak up, anything. But there was nothing.
"I fail to understand wh-"
"Accusing a Diamond of a crime of that magnitude? You fail to see the trouble in that?"
"M-My Diamond, please, forgive me. I only got carried away in my statement."
"Carried away?" She raised an eyebrow. "I suppose that excuses it."
"R-really?"
"Of course it doesn't!" Yellow slammed a fist on the arm of her throne, making the room shake, and Blue reach over with a scornful expression.
"...You are to be shattered as soon as this case is cleared."
"W-wait! My Diamond, please! Reconsider!"
"Yellow..." Blue quietly said. "Remember our agreement."
This obviously disgruntled the other Diamond, as one hand balled into a fist.
"You will be put on trial."
This verdict wasn't much better, but it was less...immediate?
"Your defense will be selected by the court. Dismissed."
The pearls returned to Zircon's side to escort her back to the room where Yellow was still waiting. Blue's expression must have been something horrified, because the moment the Pearl's left her there, Yellow furrowed her brow and walked over to her.
"What happened out there? Are you not permitted to take anymore cases until your name is cleared?" The beginning of a smirk began to cross her lips but was quickly broken as Blue seemed to collapse, to which Yellow quickly caught her under the arms before she could fall.
"What has gotten into you!?"
Blue's only response was quiet crying, her grip tight on the other's arms.
"I'm being...put on trial."
"What is the verdict?"
"...shattered...unless proven...i-innocent."
