((A/N: My gemsona, Moss Green Agate makes a brief cameo in this chapter ;3 She basically handle all the Jaspers, won't get too deep into her story and personality for now))
"..you're insane." Yellow looked absolutely dumbfounded, looking at Blue and shaking her head.
"I know I am! If I wasn't, I wouldn't have said what I did out there!"
"You are not going to Earth!"
"On whose authority?"
"Mine, of course!"
"We're equals, Yellow. You have no authority over me."
Before the other could protest, Blue had left the room, walking with her head held high down the crystalline halls. Her shoes clicked against the floor, echoing and filling the silence. Then, the sound of another pair of shoes running towards her made Blue whip around, panicked and ready to come up with an excuse as to why she was wandering around without any sort of purpose or guards.
It was only Yellow. But she looked just as distressed and frazzled as Blue felt.
"What do you want?"
"What do I want?! You just walked out of there, saying you were going to Earth! What I want is you?"
"H-huh?"
"...you to...stay there, with me!"
"What are you..."
"Just stay there!" Yellow snapped, her cheeks turning a light green as she held a hand to her face. Get it together...
"I'm not giving up until I figure out what's going on!"
"Then I'm coming with you! I will not face the Diamond's on my own and try to explain where you went and why you aren't there!"
Suddenly, the sound of another gems footsteps startled them from their argument.
"This way." Yellow grabbed Blue's wrist and ran, pulling her into a hollowed out portion of the wall, likely once used to display one thing or another. There was barely enough room for the two of them to hide, so Yellow held Blue close against her, her face one of stern patience, yet her flushed complexion told quite a different story.
"Who is shouting out here?!" A tall green gem strode past them, her cape swishing behind her. "Those rowdy..." Mumbling to herself, Moss Green Agate furrowed her brow and paused just outside of their hiding spot.
Yellow held Blue tighter.
Blue had started to sweat.
"Where have they gone..." The agate started to move again, going right past their hiding spot, yet Yellow did not loosen her grip. Not until they heard the footfalls fade into the distance did she let go.
But Blue still clung to her.
"...We can leave now."
"Wh-oh, yes!" Blue quickly cleared her throat, stepping back into the hall and continuing on her path towards the deck, where the Rubies ships were held, leaving Yellow to press her lips together and follow.
"This is a terrible idea." She muttered, looking up as the ships came into view.
"I know. But I need to know, Yellow. I have to." Blue walked up to one of the ships, her fingers dancing along the lock pad to make the ship door open.
"I thought only Rubies and Pearls had access to that knowledge."
"They did. They had to file it somewhere, didn't they?"
"Blue!! Now you're hacking into classified files!?"
"I'm already a criminal, aren't I?!"
"Why? Can't you just do the sensible thing and-" They were suddenly interrupted by a voice. A voice they had both heard mere minutes before.
"WHAT. IS GOING ON HERE?!"
