After Baizen told me all about his past, something made me trust him even more. I know it sounds odd but it wasn't as bad as everyone puts it out to be.
Mother is always at the university with Derek lately so I usually snuggle up with Baizen in my bedroom with Clarke at my side. Mother always leaves something delicious in the kitchen before she goes for dinner so I'm not left to go hungry. Even though I'm older, 15 in fact, I still feel like a little girl when I'm with my mother and I love it.
The secret between the boys was that Baizen was with a girl last year and her best friends brother was an arch enemy of his which didn't go down well. Fight after fight until one fateful night caused his girlfriend to be accidentally hit in the head with a metal bar Baizen had picked up to hit the boy with. Her wound bled for a while in the hospital and the nurse told her she has a small permanent scar. Word got around and everyone over exaggerated to make this brawl more like WW3.
He cheered me up afterwards though, Clarke too. So much in fact that we were all invited to a party from one the girls in my Religious Studies class; Grace. She wasn't really popular but she sure was beautiful. A natural beauty like Italians.
The music was far too loud. Alcohol lying empty on the coffee table. There were so many more teenagers than I expected. Grace have me a massive hug which was surprising as I'm not her closest friend. Baizen said she was hammered but I didn't know what that meant. I was offered some fruit punch so I politely accepted. Like a lost rabbit in a huge forest, I stuck by Clarke's side as Baizen had took off with some boys he knew.
For a whole hour me and Clarke just stood around by the stereo, awkwardly making small talk. I don't know why it was awkward. It never is.
