Velocity (Tej Parker)

Chapter Eight

Everyone was split up in three cars; Letty, Brian and Dom in one, Han and Gisele in another, and Roman, Tej and Teagan in a jeep with Hobbs driving. They were all on an airstrip following the three cars that were Shaw's crew.

"Where the hell does this dude think he's going?" Roman asks. "We're on an army base, he's trapped."

As if on cue, a C-17 flies overhead and lands in front of Shaw's crew.

"You just had to open your mouth!" Teagan shouts at him.

"Now, we got a big-ass plane to deal with," Tej hits Roman upside the head.

"That ain't a plane," Roman says. "That's a planet."

The two cars beside Shaw flank away and Shaw's car gets up onto the plane. Dom's car speeds forward and Han's hits one of Shaw's and it spins out of the way. Hobbs hits another one of Shaw's guys and Teagan almost flies forward. Dom takes the opportunity to speed his car onto the plane.

Hobbs speeds up to try and get them onto the plane, but the jeep they hit earlier to let Dom through pulls up beside them and hits them out of the ramps way. Driving side by side with the plane now, Teagan pulls out her gun and turns around. She shoots two bullets at the car, but they duck out of the way.

"Little bastards," She whispers. The jeep backs off the same time the plane speeds up. Teagan's body is pushed forwards but she grabs the rail of the jeep to keep her from flying out of the car.

"Grab the wheel!" Hobbs shouts at Tej, and then proceeds to open his car door and lean out the side.

Tej jumps into the driver's seat and Teagan turns back around upon hearing the screech of tires. They start to shoot at the car and she ducks down before returning the volley of bullets. Looking back ahead, she sees Hobbs now in the wheel shaft climbing up into the plane.

Shaw's men then pull up beside the jeep and rams up against it, pinning them between the car and the plane's wheel. That's when Roman and Shaw's Asian man start to duke it out. The Asian man then takes the chance to pull Roman onto the hood of their car and start to beat the shit out of him. Teagan crawls into the passenger seat and picks up Roman's fallen gun.

She stands on the seat and aims the gun at the back of the Asian man's head. She fires and misses and fires again.

"Don't shoot at me, T!" Roman shouts at her. She then looks up to see the fan on the plane and an idea pops into her head.

Looking back at Roman, she gestures for him to jump onto the hood of their jeep. He does so and before the Asian man could jump after him, she crouches down and grabs the steering wheel. Jerking it right, they hit the other car and it goes right in the line of fire of the fan. With the force of air, Shaw's men going flying backward.

They get back into a steady pace and Teagan climbs into the back while Roman climbs up front. Looking back the plane's wheel, she notices it start to take off and on the other side Han and Gisele were being pulled by the wing along with one of Shaw's men.

Roman picks up the enhanced grappling hook and aims it towards the wings flap so the plane could slow down and hit the runway again. Teagan watches as he aims then fires. Looking to see where the grapple landed she silently curses to herself.

"What happened?" Tej asks looking at a concerned Roman. "Did you hit the flap?"

"You should probably buckle up right now," Roman says and sits down in his seat.

"Roman, you idiot!" Teagan shouts and holds onto the railing.

The cable tightens and their car starts to fly off the ground with the plane. The force of the jerk propels her over the railing to where Teagan was hanging off the side of the jeep. The nose of the car scrapes on the ground and she kicks her feet to try and climb back into the car.

The plane goes higher and Teagan shouts as she is tossed around, her iron grip not letting go of the railing. Finally the plane starts to fall back down and the car lands on all four wheels. Through the window, Roman wraps his arms around the girl's waist and pulls her back into the jeep. With her now sitting on his lap to be in a more stable position, he looks up to see Hobbs standing in the emergency exit doorframe.

"Tej!" Roman shouts. "Keep it steady!"

Hobbs then jumps into the back and stays standing as he beckons Letty to jump in. She does after a second of consideration. Next was supposed to be Dom, but he ran off back into the plane. After a minute the plane starts to tip to the left and Teagan watches as the wing scratches the ground, bursting into flames.

"Disconnect the cable!" Teagan shouts at Hobbs. He does as he's told and that gives Tej the opportunity to speed up.

The plane hits the ground in a fiery mess and once it stops so does all the other cars, parking themselves in front of the mess. Teagan gets out and rounds the car to stand in front of Tej's door. She couldn't find Dom anywhere in the crash. As she takes a shaky breath, the silhouette of a man walks out of the flames. He made it, and he had the chip. Letty sprints towards him and Teagan lets out a happy laugh. She looks over at the other cars and sees Han step forward with a grief stricken face.

"Where's Gisele?" She speaks up. Mia pulls away from Brian and walks over to Han.

"Where's Gisele?" She asks him. He just shakes his head looking at the flames.

Teagan covers her mouth with her hand and the other goes to her stomach. She didn't want to believe that Gisele was dead. If Dom could survive the crash, couldn't she?

Hobbs jumps out of the back and takes a few steps towards Dom and Letty who were hand in hand.

"So this is worth billions, huh?" Dom asks holding up the briefcase with the chip in it.

"Yes, it is," Hobbs says. Dom hand him the case and Hobbs takes a moment to cherish the fact that it was now finally in his possession. "Name your price, Dom."

"1327," Dom says. While everyone looked at each other confused, Mia, Brian and Teagan all sport a smile. 1327 was home.
