Velocity (Tej Parker)

Chapter Seven

Back at the NATO base, Teagan sat on a set of steps and had her head in her hands. While a general was talking to Hobbs he makes the stupid comment about Letty gaining Dom and the crew's attention.

"What about her?" The general asks and walks towards her.

"Not her," Dom says and stands in front of him.

"She was working with Shaw," The general tries to reason.

"Was," Dom says and Teagan takes the time to stand up. Out of the corner of her eyes she sees Letty look up at the crew. People she thought were her enemy, defending her. "But she's always been one of us."

"Let's give them a minute," Hobbs says. The general walks off furious about not getting his way. Then Hobbs and Riley make their way to interrogate Shaw. They finally caught the bastard, but Teagan had this strange feeling it wasn't over yet.

She walks over to Tej and pulls him aside. "Are we okay?" She asks him.

"You wanted to be alone, so I'm leaving you alone," He says and tries to walk away but she grabs his arm. "What?"

"I'm sorry," She sighs. "It's just Dom is the father figure I never had. So when I went out of my way following a gut feeling just to have him put me down and say I was out of line, it hurt. So I'm just sort of accepting the fact that maybe I'm wrong and it's all in my head."

"What was the feeling?" Tej asks.

"Riley," Teagan says. "I think she's working with Shaw, well thought."

"You really think she's a traitor?" Tej asks.

"Yes, but that's not the point," Teagan shakes her head. "The point is, yes I have a few things that I would rather keep to myself, but so do you. I know nothing about your past, only the present and, hopefully, the future."

"Future?" Tej scoffs. "What do you mean by that?"

"I don't know," Teagan says. "Maybe settling down in Miami or LA, near the water. Possibly starting a family?"

"A family? Like kids?" Tej asks and Teagan nods her head. "Well, if we are spilling secrets, I'm not too fond of kids. I just don't see myself as the dad type, you know?"

"Yeah yeah, I totally get it," Teagan agrees and takes a step back from him. She looks back up from the ground to him and raises an eyebrow. "So, are we good now?"

"Yeah," He says and takes a step towards her. "We'll figure this out, we've been so caught up in having fun or doing jobs, that we haven't gotten the chance to fully understand the other. So eventually, we'll figure it out."

"Hey, Toretto!" Hobbs shouts dragging Shaw into the room. "You need to hear this."

The crew makes their way over to Shaw and put him in a circle

"You guys really think you've won," Shaw states. "This code you live by, it's the every reason why you weren't even in the game. I told you exactly what I was going to do if you didn't walk away, Toretto. But you didn't listen. I told you I can reach out and break you whenever I want. And I have. Maybe you should call Mia."

With that everyone's face falls. Brian dials Mia's number and listens to it ring.

"Mia?" He asks into the phone.

"Brian!" Teagan hears Mia yell.

Brian lunges at Shaw and punches him square in the jaw. Roman and Tej pull him off while Teagan takes a step back and covers her mouth. They had Mia, she could die any second and baby Jack would be motherless.

"So this is how it's gonna go down." Shaw starts his demands. "You're going to cut me loose from these cuffs, you're going to hand me the chip, I'm gonna walk out of here and you're not going to follow."

"You must be joking," The NATO general says.

"Look at his face." Shaw takes a step towards a pissed off Dom. "Ask him if I'm joking."

"One hostage does not outweigh the threat to millions," The general says. "I'm sorry but this changes nothing."

That's when Hobbs pulls out his gun and aims it at the general. Then a bunch of guns from the NATO men in uniform are pointed at him and the crew. "This changes everything. You tell your men to stand down."

The guns go down except for the one Hobbs was pointing at the general He looks over at Dom. "Toretto, I need you to know, the moment we let him walk out that door with that chip, words like 'amnesty' and 'pardon' walks out with him."

"Those words went out the day we were born," Dom says.

With that Riley grabs the keys and unlocks all the cuffs. The bald guy grabs the chip and the three men we caught start to walk out. Shaw then turns around to say one last thing.

"Coming, babe?" He asks and everyone looks at Letty except for Teagan. She followed Shaw's eyes all the way to Riley who puts on a smirk.

"Of course," She finally says and walks towards him. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."

"Like I said, you were never in the game." He walks out with Riley hand in hand. "I'll see you on the horizon, I'll make the call and the girl's dead."

He and Riley leave the room and Tej runs over to a computer. He furiously starts typing and Dom walks over to Teagan. You were either watching Tej type away or what was going down between Teagan and Dom.

"T," Dom sighs. "I'm sorry for not believing you."

"That makes two of us," Teagan says and runs a hand through her hair.

"Guys!" Tej shouts gaining everyone's attention. "I just jammed every signal up and down the spectrum."

Roman hands Dom a shotgun and Teagan a handheld. She cocks the gun setting everything in place and puts it in the back of her pants. She takes another one and holds it in her hand.

"Let's move!" Dom shouts.

"I'm coming with you," Letty says.

They all look back at her. While everyone was staring at the girl, Teagan steps towards her. She cocks the gun in her hand and hands it to the brown haired girl in front of her.

"Then let's go." Letty smiles at Teagan and takes the gun.
