"Hey, hey!" I hear as quick snaps of who ever's fingers begin to annoy me. "What?" I say as I look up with a hint of attitude. "What? I'm trying to save your dumb ass right now. I don't think you would like to be caught sleeping, am I right?" Brennen questions.

Brennen was my boyfriend in sophomore year of school. He turned out to be a real ass, but isn't that how every relationship ends? Wrong.But that is not what I am getting out. Brennen may have seemed like the 'perfect' boyfriend. Always there for you, shooed away the guys who tried hitting on you, wasn't to clingy, just 'perfect'.

"Yeah yeah sorry" I apologize quickly and he gives me a smirk. "Good girl" he says and we laugh.
Class ends and I pack my crap up and sling my bag over my shoulder. I begin to walk out of the room as I feel an arm sling over my shoulders.
"Your leaving without me?!" Brennen tries to act offended. "Of course not! I was going to wait" I play along. "Mhm. Love you" "Love you too" I reply. He kisses my forehead and soon Colton calls him over. "See you later" he says and runs over to meet up with Colton.
I begin to walk out to the courtyard to wait for Shawn because he is my ride. I go to one of the bleachers and place my bag down as I sit.
"Hey Montgomery!" I hear someone yell. "Aye Mendes!" I say as I wave him over.
My eyes trail to someone behind him and my expression changes from happy to sad and mad in a snap. I feel tears trail down my face as I look at Brennen and some random blonde chick sucking each other's faces off.
"Hey hey hey, what happened?" Shawn's voice appears worried. "He uh Brennen hmm over there" I try to say and end up pointing. "Aw Aspen it's going to be okay" Shawn says as he hugs me for comfort.
Yes that jackass did what 80% of boyfriends do; cheat by kissing either a random girl or the popular girl in school. In my case some random girl who wasn't that pretty anyways, in my opinion.
"Come on. Let's go to my house" Shawn says. I shake my head and we head to his car with his and mine bag on his shoulders and our hands locked.
We pull up to his house, which may I add is across from mine, and we unload from it. He connects our hands again and walk to his room. He places our bags on the ground near his closet and we both sit on his bed.
I grab my phone from my pocket and see 4 notifications from Brennen.

Tears fill my eyes as I read through the texts. I look up at Shawn and he gives me an apologetic look. He wraps his arms around me and I just let it out. To this day I don't understand why I cried over him. Maybe because I was stupid and thought he loved me. Maybe because to everyone and me also he was that "perfect boyfriend".
I eventually answer him back.

Being in a car, on a long drive on the highway, gives way to much room to bring up past memories. Memories I kept locked away for a few years come back out, to change everything. Brennen was my first kiss and my first boyfriend and he just stole them both by cheating on me. Shawn was always there for me until, until now I guess.
Shawn promised me that, he promised me we would go to UCLA together, what could Shawn possibly have promised me next?
