He stumped up the stairs towards his room sighing as he stripped off his shirt throwing it towards the hamper of dirty clothes.
"Your boots are tracking dirt, mom's gonna kill you."
"No she's gonna kill you, twerp." He replied pushing him out of his way. He continued to his room pushing open the small room door and dropping his bag next to his desk. He sighed looking at his bed that was missing its frame. Just the mattress and the box. He dropped on his bed, snuggling into all the sheets and pillows. The cotton candy scent making him smile.
"Angie you home?" He heard his mother voice and slammed of the front door.
"My room" he called out hoping mother heard
"Angie!"
"Yes" he waited for the reply before screaming "yes" again. He groaned pushing himself up and trudging down the stairs to the kitchen where his mother was putting stuff away.
"Yes?" He asked Carmen rubbing his eyes.
"Dahlia called and invited James and I out for dinner, Ivy, Silas, and Sofia are coming to help you watch the kids."
He groaned annoyed with the idea if watching is sibling. He quickly made his way back up to his room. Dropping on his bed, he glanced at his phone seeing a few messages. He placed his phone back on the floor before rolling over and falling asleep.
-----
"He's kind of cute," Sofia smiled
"Yeah, model material." Ivy giggled her cheeks stained pink. "You think he'll think its weird us watching him."
"Nope, I'm gonna go help my man, be back." He gave Ivy a quick hug before pushing herself up and leaving. Angelo rolled over pretending to sleep. Ivy smiled getting closer to the bed to take a picture. Angelo jumped up grabbing her and rolling over.
"Angel!!!" She giggled as he tickled her.
"What's up ivy." He smiled stopping.
"Nothing really, just talking about you being a model."
"Not the life for me, I tried too many drugs and sex, and mistakes," He sighed lying on his back. "I, it was just terrible. Depressing, "
Ivy nodded sitting up on his bed, taking his hand, tracing the creases of his palms. Soon loud barking sounded through the house, Ivy jumped at the sound, slightly scared. When she saw it, she let out a small scream as it ran into the room, picking up the blanket and hiding under it.
"Goliath, calm down boy." Angelo laughed as His puppy jumped up on the bed and nipped at the sheets that covered Ivy.
"get your lion off me." Ivy cried from beneath the sheets.
once the scratching and nipping stopped she peaked out, eyes wide. She looked over at the mastiff puppy that she loved and hated at the sane time. She finally sat up in the bed allowing Angelo to let go of the collar.
-----
"Dinner guys, the kids have eaten and they're being sprayed down outside from the mud fight, then they're gonna go into their jammies and pass out in the living room to watch the movies." Silas said crossing his arms as he looked at them as they painted together.
"Okay we'll be down in a little." Angelo smiled taking a swing of the red st.Augustine wine his mother loved oh so much.
Silas nodded, turning to walk back down stairs. Sofia stood at the head of the stairs, Carmen's 18month old in her arms wailing.
"Help me out."
-
"Stop drinking Angel." Ivy frowned taking the bottle from him."StOp DrInKiNg AnGeL." He mocked falling back in his bed. "Wanna smoke?"
She watched as he pulled a lighter out his pocket, lighting up his cigarette. her eyes glued to the smoke that flowed out his lips, swirling in the air. The smell, burning her nose, itching at her throat. She though if telling him that she hated smoking but didn't think anything of it.
"Come here." Angelo whispered eyes still closed.
She crawled closer to him, confused. He opened his eyes looking into hers "im sorry" suddenly he kissed her, he had sat up, both hands gripping the side of her head as his lips attacked hers. Ivy sat there shocked, she pulled back,
"I'm gonna go get food." She stuttered getting off his bed and walking out the room.Angelo sighed rubbing the bridge if his nose. Thinking of what a dumb idea it was.
