Chapter 9

"Looks like another storm is coming", a scarlet macaw sentry stated as he observes an ominous gathering of dark clouds.

"Another one? This is the third time this week that we have gotten a storm", a blue macaw sentry commented, irritated by another coming storm.

"Quit complaining Robert, just go tell the council to prepare the whole village", the scarlet told the spix, ordering him to go and inform the village elders.

Another spix macaw came flying from the direction of the village. Said macaw is Darknova and Andrea's father, Blueray. He's currently serving as the village's sentry along with a few others.

"I sure hope it's not another big one though", Blueray commented as he landed near the red feathered macaw.

"Don't get your hopes up Blueray, just make sure you protect your family, this time", the scarlet turned to Blueray.

"Don't you dare bring that up Marco!" Blueray glared the scarlet down.

"Okay, okay, sheesh, anyway, my shift is done so good luck and take care out there, jaguar activity seems to have spiked since last storm season", Marco said as he began to take flight.

To you too as well Marco, just reserve me a seat in the bar once my shift is done okay? I don't wanna have a repetition of last time", the spix called out as Marco flew off.

"Where's the fun in that then?" The scarlet laughed enticing a similar reaction from Blueray.

"Just reserve a seat will ya!" Blueray turned to face the clouds again one last time, silently praying for what's to come before taking flight to begin his patrol.

Meanwhile...

In another part of the jungle, particularly the hidden pool section. Our three favorite macaw chicks are enjoying a bath together.

"What did you say Darknova?!"

Ughhh...here we go again. Hey at least she used his real name unlike before.

"I-I-I meant that your place is...well...trashed?" Darknova admitted, slowly backing away from the potential time bomb known as Saphira.

"Oh how I wish I have popcorn with me, this is gonna be great to watch", Andrea laughed, ready to enjoy DK and Saphy's LQ.

"Well...I have you know that I like it that way thank you!" Surprising both Darknova and Andrea, Saphira didn't attack the male spix, despite the fact that she really, really, really wanna drown him in the very pool they are currently bathing.

"Wow, reacted better then I expected Saph", Andrea added, surprised on how well Saphira took the insult.

"Why the heck do you have to be angry about it when I mentioned it then?" Darknova replied without dropping his guard. Not really trusting Saphira's words.

"Well...I just...don't want it to be known by everyone! I just can't stand people telling me to clean up, I even hate them more then you Dork", Saphira stated out.

Andrea was about to give Saphira a talk about cleanliness but she decided against it after Saphira's statement. She is not risking getting on her bad side, especially what happened a week ago.

"Besides, I don't want people to joke about it...I've suffered enough as it is...", Saphira said, the last part was a whisper but was still heard by the two spix siblings.

Darknova was about ask what she meant about the last part, but was interrupted by a capybara that came out of the jungle's under brush.

"What are you kids doing out here during a storm warning?" The capybara concerning informed." Shouldn't you three be with your parents?"
