Jesse’s POV
That next morning was heaven, she was in her true beauty, she was glowing. She was literally fucking glowing. That morning I hovered over her again, taking in all of her beauty. That morning I knew I wouldn't be able to leave her. Her brown hair was curly and fanned out, her mouth set in a small grin. Her skin a nice deep caramel tone, her skin looked young and soft. Her features were soft, her lips looking more inviting than ever. I watched as her long eyelashes fluttered, revealing her ice blue eyes. I was struck for a moment, unable to say or do anything. Her eyes were piercing, making me freeze to my place. And then her grin widened, showing little dimples. Her hands ran up my bare chest like a ghost touch and then her cold hands wrapped around the back of my neck, her thumbs almost on my earlobes. My shirt was fitted loosely against her, her collar bones showed because the collar was crooked. The gray material made her eyes brighter and her skin darker. Fuck did I love her in my clothes.
She had pulled me down for a kiss and I hesitated, teasing her. She narrowed her eyes at me and then pushed me off of her. She sat up and slid off the bed and walked over to the balcony doors. I watched as she opened them, the wind blew in ripping the hem of my shirt around her legs. I saw a small smile set on her lips and she stepped out, the wind still blowing at her. I got up in one swift movement and joined her. My arms wound around her, my mouth leading to her neck and giving her soft kisses.
“Oh now you want to kiss me?” She chuckled and leaned back and looking up at me. Her hands pulled mine away and she turned, putting my hands on the small of her back. Then her fingertips grazed my skin, slowly, all the way up to my shoulder. Goosebumps followed her fingertips, sending shivers throughout my body. Then the round of skin between her thumb and pointer finger rubbed all up the side of my neck until her nails ran into my hair. I pushed her into the railing, my face leaning into hers. Her eyes closed once she tugged me closer, her lips crashing to mine as the waves crash against the shore. I leaned forward, wanting more of her as her chest pressed against mine and her body arched. My hands slid down until the caught the back of her thigh and picked her up, her legs wrapping around my waist. I turned around and dropped her on her bed, dipping down and kissing her again. Her nails dug into the skin of my back once more and I kissed her harder. Yeah, you could say I had a good morning.
I arrived to school on cloud nine. I was floating, I felt like I was personally blessed by Jesus himself. I walked down the hallway to find Dylan at his locker. He turned once I knocked on the neighboring locker. He looked up at me, his large glasses perched on his nose. He watched me for a few seconds staring at my face.
“Why are you so happy? You're like… Glowing.” His lips turned up once he looked behind me. I felt cold fingertips touched the color of my shirt and pulled up on it a little, fixing it.
“Your collar was crooked.” I turned to see the source of the melodic voice and saw Carter. She was in a light blue short dress, floral. This morning she was muttering about ‘a quarter length, drawstring a-line mini dress and some Saint Laurent Babies 90 suede ankle boots’ so I helped her look, within my best ability of course. Because… Well I don't study fashion and I had no idea what the hell she was talking about. But I'm glad she found it, she was absolutely stunning. The bell rang and I internally cursed the school for making me leave her.
“I'll see you at lunch yeah?” She nodded and leaned forward to kiss my cheek before her heels took me away from her. I watched her leave, a smile on my face and my insides tingling. The things she does to me.
“Dude are you OK?” Dylan asked pushing me into the hallway. I nodded, still watching her until she vanished.
“I'm more than ok.”
“We'll talk about it later, we need to get to class.” He pulled me into my first hour. We took our seats and took out our notebooks, but I couldn't pay attention in class, my brain wouldn't let me think about anything else other than the myth that has me wrapped around her finger.
I couldn't have been more excited to get to lunch. I literally pulled Dylan down the hallway to get to the cafeteria, both of us finally stopping once we got to the table. She sat across from Axel, one leg crossed the other and her posture straight. I bet if you measured her she'd be a right angle. I sat down next to her, our thighs touching.
“No Axel, you can't just do that. You need to actually take her out on a date, not just hanging out at each other's houses.” I watched her, almost struck. Did she not want to stay home anymore? Did she want to go out on dates? Did she want all of that?
“But-”
“Axel if you want to keep your girlfriend you just need to put in a little effort. Madeline is a nice person, she'd be happy even if you walked her down the street to get ice cream.” I sat down next to her, my hand resting on the inside of her thigh.
“I ne-”
“Axel just do it. Stop bitching and just do something for her. The next time I talk to Madeline and she tells me that you don't do anything for her I will ruin you.” Her voice was stern, ending the conversation. He grumbled a fine and then went back to his sandwich. She uncrossed her legs and let her fingers curl between mine that rested on her leg.
“I'll be out tonight, around four I'm leaving and I don't know when I'll be back.” I nodded, my head turning towards her as she took a sip of water.
“Want me to come over?”
“Ah, I don't know. We'll see.” She muttered, her eyes were looking forward, staring at nothing really. Her eyebrows knitted, her eyes glazed over. But then a smile lifted her lips and looked at me.
“Yeah, come over. The boys will be home, you can catch up with Robbie.” I nodded, pulling her to look at me.
“Want me to come over before you leave? I just have a meeting tonight, it'll only last maybe twenty minutes.” She shrugged and her nails started to run up and down the inside of my forearm, taking away the hand that was holding mine. I felt goosebumps rise, I turned to Dylan and Axel and joined their conversation of the latest games.
After lunch Dylan and I had gone to the library to study. As usual we took the table in the back where it quiet and away from everybody.
“So tell me.” I coughed a little and leaned back, a smile on my face.
“She's perfect.” Dylan rose his eyebrow and leaned forward.
“You've only known her for not even a week.”
“What?” I whispered leaning forward.
“It's not even been a week Jesse.” I sighed and rubbed my face, I saw a blue eyed beauty behind my closed lids. I smiled slightly, her face peaceful and sweet.
“She’s- I don't know Dylan. She's just… she has me. She just has me wrapped around her finger. We have each other wrapped around each other's fingers. This girl makes me feel things I have never felt. She conjures something so deep inside of me. I didn't think any of this would happen, or even this soon. I just thought- I just thought I'd be there for her, help her. But now that I see it, we're helping each other. She's helping mend the broken pieces that are me. She's giving me something, something I can rely on, something I know that will be there, something to hope for.” I rubbed at my face harder, trying to get her out of mind and get it on the track of my studies.
“You guys had sex didn't you?” I sputtered, leaning forward I coughed harshly, mixed with awkward chuckles. I felt my face go red, my body turning warm.
“So that's a yes. Jesse I swear if she gets pregnant I will murder you. Neither of you are even close to being ready for that. I swear-”
“Dylan I won't, I'm not dumb.” He sighed and nodded, knowing that what I said was true.
“Axel tried taking her card from me. He literally begged to just see the name on the card. I told him that if she wanted him to have her number she would give it to him. He threw a fit, I swear that guy is a girl.” Dylan rolled his eyes and clicked on his keypad.
“Is it alright that I go with her tomorrow night? To see Andrew Travis?” He asked taking a quick look at me before going back to reading his screen.
“Yeah, you can go. I don't mind.” He muttered a cool and took out his phone, handed it to me and told me to text her about it.
At the end of the day Dylan and I headed to the locker room to grab our soccer bags.
“Dylan let me try your jersey on. What is it? A large right?” I asked, he nodded and threw the red and blue striped jersey at me.
“I'm gonna buy one, just wanted to see how they fit.” I unbuttoned my T-shirt and then pulled the jersey over.
“You think it fits? How does it look?” I asked. He shrugged.
“Little tight. Your arms are just too big, I like them a little loose since I wear them for practice too.” I nodded and pulled it off. I heard him cough a little and then he pushed on my shoulders.
“Dude, look in the mirror.” He chuckled as I knitted my eyebrows and turned my back to the mirror. There you could see red streaks, like nails ran down my back. I turned to look at Dylan, a sheepish smile on my lips. He shook his head and turned back around.
“Not even a week Jesse, not even a week.” He muttered as I rolled my eyes and chucked his jersey back at him.
“Just keep this between us.” I slid my shirt back on and threw my bag over my shoulder.
“Jesse it hasn't even been a week and you're fucking whipped.”
