"It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look."  1 Peter 1:12

This is a powerful verse.

Very often, I end up discouraged because it seems unfair that God, when He could have stopped all the sin and the suffering in this world, instead just let it happen. I mean, what's the point? It doesn't seem right and it doesn't seem fair that we should get punished. And why would God, when it says His Heart Breaks when He sees His children become so sinful,  allow this to happen?  Well I was thinking about this and then I realised something.

Louise Philippe — 'When darkness is at its darkest, a star shines the brightest.'

Maybe we need the darkness of this world to see the Light of God.

What is one the greatest things in your life?

We are forgiven.

We were dirty, but are now clean.

Could we have had that without the sin?

No.

Not even the angels are able to comprehend this. They have never sinned, never felt so unclean, so, how could they?

Did you notice something in that verse?

"...which angels long to look." They long to look into this.

They long to know that feeling of love and grace that we spurn every day.

When have you most grown in your faith? I can almost guarantee that you struggled to. It was through hardship. Through darkness

The angels can't grow in their faith, because they haven't suffered as we have.

It's a bit like felting together wool fibres. You scald them, rub them, pummel them, throw them, freeze them, boil them shock them and wring them. After this, they become one solid piece of felt. We as Christians, maybe we're the same.

We must get beaten and bashed up to grow in faith, and, sin is the only way we can do that. If there was no sin in this world, how would we grow enough to be able to appreciate the glory of God?

We have a Story of Grace. So I pray that you'll be able to live your life from now remembering the God's Story is a Story of Grace and of His love for us

So, fight against this world, and view the hardships of life the way God is showing us His story of Grace, day by day.

After all, even angels long to look into these things.
