We had arrived at an alternative residence that belong to the Grandiss Family, one specifically made for meetings. It was high on top of a hill that viewed the large German town that many magicians inhabited. A diverse community that found relations in magic, and of course, found pride in their great academy that stood in the middle.

This building we were now entering had a special name, apparently my biological mother named it herself, 'Glaza Manor'. In Russian, it meant Eye Manor, but Ochi Tower was frequently used by the Grandiss members as well. A Ukrainian alternative that felt more comfortable on their tongues.

As we strode through long hallways decorated with Coven heirlooms and expensive paintings, we finally settled at a round table that was only meant for meetings. The room was square, grand, and spacious. Velvet wallpaper of roses and vines covered every inch of the walls with borders of creme wood. A large, sparkly chandelier hung over our heads but no one seemed to be phased by the elegance of the room.

It was my first time ever being in the room, despite my membership and title of being a Lady of Grandiss. My adoptive mother never spoke or brought to me to places of my Coven heritage. Now that my magic has awoken, she's now willing to expose me of it, I suppose.

"I'd tell the other councilmen to come but their all scattered across the globe," My mother chuckled while she sat under a spotlight, "Plus, this meeting was rather out of the blue."

I had never seen my mother be so social and nice in a while. I guess old comrades can lighten anyone up, eh?

"Don't fret," Lady Castell offered a smile, "As long as the head councilman is here, then we should not worry. Which is you, Miss Ravenwing. Not to mention, the Grand Witch, Lady Grandiss."

Julien furrowed his brows together, "Mother, why do you call her such respectable titles? You have yet to explain the significance and your relationship with these people..."

Lady Castell pursed her lips and bowed in her head in apology towards my mother and I, "You wouldn't mind helping him explain the history between us witches and warlocks?"

"Not at all," My mother clasped her hands together, "After all, you two will soon lead these two great covens. A history lesson is important."

"I'll start off with the generation before us, the grandfathers of Castell and Grandiss and the friendship they shared."

The first male Grand Witch of Coven Grandiss was one many disagreed with. It was a heretical choice and one against gender-norms. Many Covens frowned upon this new leader of Grandiss but Sir Garrett Ivan would prove his worth later is his reign.

He was only twelve when he first activated his powers, a cosmo witch. It was a rare branch of magic, one that involved elements of the galaxy, not bound to Earth. Usually, leaders of Grandiss were specialized in Light or Electricity. However, Garrett was beyond that. He outranked his ancestors in terms of powers, but what mattered was leadership to the Coven.

Being an adolescent and a Grand Witch bears heavy responsibility. Garrett had his meltdowns and explosive destructions. Destructions on a large scale enough to eat away whole villages. Soon, those out of the magical community began to notice to abnormality. This is when the Coven of Grandiss disappeared off the face of Earth, to stray away from human conflict and preying.

But they couldn't never escape their magical enemies.

Garrett would no longer stand being hidden, and he sought out to destroy the most nefarious cult on Earth, the Cult of Emir. One of the Coven's greatest enemies.

Along his travel, he befriended a warlock. Something very unlikely among the witches and warlocks. Axel de Castell led his own cult with ambitions to change the world's view on warlocks. However, in order to do that, he too had to get rid of Marcel, leader of Emir.

These two men would soon destroy the Cult of a thousand members, all at the tender age of seventeen. They'd earn a spot among a list of kings, the greatest magicians ever on Earth.

This was the beginning of a great alliance, the Castells and the Grandiss.

In order to keep the Alliance thriving, they promised something against their future generation's will. A descendent of each Castell and Grandiss would marry each other at the adult age of eighteen.

However, the two men would both have only daughter's, and slowly the Alliance diminished, as well as Grandiss' Lady, Grandelle. A grim history of Coven Grandiss.
