UNEXPECTED (Taylor Lautner fan fiction)

CHAPTER 18

I was choking on my own words, I couldn't speak. Everything was stuck and I felt as though i was about to faint, Taylor had just asked me to marry him, I never saw this coming in a million year maybe later on if we were together but not now! Half of my mind was telling me to say yes, to wear that beautiful ring on my finger and spend the rest of my life with Taylor, to be called his, but the other hand the other half of me was saying to me that I am too young that this is happening faster than it should and I have other things that I need to be focusing on first. I love Taylor, I really do but I'm not one hundred percent positive im ready to take such a drastic step in my life at the moment, I just broke up with my old boyfriend and this is the first time me and Taylor have spent time together after who knows how long. 

"Taylor, I-I, I don't know. I love you but I need some time to let this sink in. I, I just can't say yes at the moment I'm so sorry" his face dropped and he closed the lid of the ring box and placed it back in his pocket, "Taylor this doesn't mean no it just means not yet" "I understand" he told me "are you ready to go". I nodded.

Taylor drove me home, it was a very silent drive and the silence was very unpleasant, it made things awkward especially when we caught each other looking at one another, it was so quiet that I could hear Taylor's breathing in and out and the rhythmic pattern of his heart beats. He pulled up at the front of my house, slowly we came to a stop, Taylor turned to ignition off, everything was dead silent and I could only hear the light sound of the crickets, Taylor looked at me in the eyes and I could see the sorrow and love all mixed together in one beautiful tone of brown. "I am really sorry Emily, I love you so much and I just want you back, You don't ha-" I cut Taylor off by crashing my lips to his, at first he didn't kiss back, I could tell he was shocked but it didn't take long for him react, our lips moved together in perfect harmony. This was the first time I had kissed Taylor since I said goodbye. Nothing had changed, his lips still felt the way they used to and he still kissed me with so much love and passion. I pulled away and got out of the car, leaving without a word. As I walked to the front door Taylor's lips lingered on mine, I wanted to run back and kiss him again but I know I can't, I have to control myself.

Mom must have heard me come inside because she came to greet me, "Hey honey, how was it?" she asked me. "It was really good mom, but I-I need to talk to you about something" "Oh No! What happened?" she cried "No mom it's nothing bad, just let me go get changed first."

I got changed out of my dress and put it in the wash, I put on an old t-shirt and my favourite pajama shorts after I took off my makeup and put my hair in a high messy bun, I had to put some cream on my heels because my damn shoes gave me big blisters that sting when I walk, I wiped the cram off my fingers with a towel and quickly put my phone on charge, when I plugged it in the screen flashed, I had a new message from Taylor.

Thankyou for coming out tonight, it meant so much! :* See you soon,

I smiled at his text, I quickly replied.

Thankyou for asking me, I had a good time :) I'll see you soon then xx

 I put my phone down and went to see mom, she was sitting on the couch and two cups of coffee sat on the coffee table beside her, by the way that she was sitting she looked nervous, she was chewing on her nails, mom always chews her nails when she is worried or concerned about something or someone. I sat down next to her and took a sip from my coffee. "This may shock you" I told her "Taylor asked me to marry him" the expression on her face drastically changed, her fingers dropped from her mouth and she stared at me in awe "Hello, mom? are you going to say anything" she blinked quickly and shook herself out of her phase. "What did you say" she asked me eagerly "I said no and that I needed to let in sink in before I do anything drastic in my life" she nodded her head lightly "Do you love him?" she asked, I just nodded my head "How much do you love him Emily?" she questioned "I love him so much that it hurts to be away from him, every minuet I am with him, every moment I feel like a better person. He makes me feel special. He makes me feel like no one else can, he's special" My mom smiled, a huge smile that spread right across her face "What?" I laughed "Say yes Emily, true love only comes once and once it leaves you will never find it again, you will find love after Taylor if you say no but not the same kind. It is never too early and if you truly love Taylor, marry him, make him the luckiest man in the world and love him with every inch of your heart." I smiled at mom and ran to the front door.

"Where are you going!?" she called out, "To see Taylor" I yelled back happily. I grabbed a coat that was hanging in the rack and my car keys from the bowl and raced out the front door into the darkness.

Street lights lit up the pathways where pedestrians would run and walk there dogs during the night and my head lights guided the road for me to see, every second that I drove, every minute I knew that I was getting closer to Taylor, the excitement is sending chills down my spine and causing butterfly's to flutter in my stomach uncontrollably, all I want, all I need is Taylor. 

I pulled into his drive way and slammed on the brakes causing my car to come to a fierce stop, the brakes screeched and the smell of burning rubber filled my nose. The car door swung open after I pushed it open with great force, I ran out of it and slammed it behind me, I ran up the steps to the front door and knocked loudly three times. Taylor answered it and he looked quite surprised to see me, he rubbed his eyes and looked like he had been asleep, I threw myself into his arms. "Yes" I mumbled into his chest. He pushed me pack so that I was facing him "What did you just say Emily?" He asked raising an eye brown "Taylor I want to marry you! I don't care that I may be too young, I love you and I need you, I want to tie myself to you in every humanly way possible." Taylor took a moment to presses what I had just said but he picked me up into his beautiful toned arms and swung me around like a little kid. He put my down and ran inside, I was confused why he had just run off but I heard him running back to the front door.

He was huffing but he had the little black box, he opened it and pulled out the beautiful diamond ring that was oh so familiar, he took my delicate hand in his big, masculine hand and slipped the ring on my finger "I love you forever and always" Taylor said.
