Chapter 2
I looked in the giant mirror. A black, tight fitting tank top with a lose, periwinkle blazer over it, unbuttoned in a rebellious and casual way. Dark black skinny jeans that showed of my slender and lean figure. And a pair of black sneakers. My shoulder length hair curled around my face, like always. My big, green eyes were edged with a smudgey black liner, to make them stand out more. I casually slung my black messenger bag over my shoulder and walked away. I smirked to myself. No too bad for my first day. I barged into my sister's room and was throughly shocked. Her poker straight hair fell perfectly to her shoulders as always, framing her rosy cheeks and innocent green eyes. Her bangs were neatly cut, as always. We were both rather tall. She was in a goofy looking yellow dress that was dramatic and flamboyant. Her white stockings fit perfectly on her slender legs and her black Mary janes were polished and scuff free.
"Aven...you look cute! Very punk and rebellious!" she squealed as she pulled me in a tight hug.
"Not to bad yourself, sis." I said, pulling back to get a better look at her. Her pink backpack was slung over one shoulder and she was beaming at me.
"This is what all the girls wear there. I'm so excited! Can you believe it? The prestigious Ouran academy! I can't wait to show off my academic excellence!" she said enthusiastically, as she grabbed my hand an pulled me out of her room and ran to the front door. Out grand entryway was giant and filled with our maids and butlers. Our favorite maid, Liliandra, walked over to us. She was also from America, like us, so English also is her first language.
"Well, you better get going. You will be late. Have a great first day!" she piped cheerily as she practically shoved us into the sleek black limo waiting in our long driveway. We waved as we hopped in the car and drove to our new school.
I saw Alice smile fondly at Liliandra. Then, she shot me a nervous glance. She grabbed my hand and I squeezed it. Even though Alice and I were so different, we still were inseparable. She was a nerd, I was a slacker. She was polite, I was rude. She cared about money, I couldn't care less. She was a goody two shoes, I was a rebel. She fit in with the other spoiled rotten rich kids, but I still secretly longed to have my old, simple life back. Alice wasn't snooty, or obnoxious. She just knew how to fit in. But she was terribly shy and delicate. I was, am, and alway will be her guardian. We pulled up to a regal looking campus and our driver lead us out. We grabbed our bags and meandered over to the middle ofthe common area. Various buildings were sprinkled out over the area, and a giant clock of creamy pink marble stood as a reminder. I saw giggly rich girls prancing around in their gaudy yellow dresses and boys laughing and chatting about their parents' money. I sighed. No way was I gonna fit in here. Class 1A, here I come. I looked at Alice, who grabbed my hand. I grabbed hers back and we walked to the building that our class was in.
When we arrived, everyone was talking to their friends about their summer vacation. I cooly leaned against the wall, radiating my usual badass-don't-mess-with-me-or-I-will-hurt-you aura. Alice just stood timidly by me. She let go of my hand and let out a small gasp. Two boys were approaching us. Two almost identical boys. They had thick auburn hair that was shaggy and attractive with captivating hazel eyes. They wore devious smirks on their faces and the typical boys uniform.
"Hey," the one on the right side said. "Who're you?" he asked inquiringly.
"What's it to ya?" I counted questioned. He just smirked.
"I-I'm Alice, and you are?" my sister said in a quiet voice.
"I'm Hikaru, and this is my brother Kaoru." he stated as he pointed to the boy standing next to him.
"Hello ladies. Welcome to Ouran Academy. May we show you around?" he said in a mock seductive voice. Alice blushed bright red and moved behind me, and I just rolled my eyes.
"Gee, thanks. That sounds fantastic, Kaoru." I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. He grinned charmingly at me.
"No problem, for lovely ladies such as yourselves" he and Hikaru said in unison. I laughed. Class was then called into session. I quickly grabbed the brothers by the arms.
"I'm Aven, Aven Sloane." I added before we rook our seats and class began.
