Chapter 10

Karylle's POV

When the triplet finished talking to uncle Lou, he quickly left the kitchen and didn't bother to say goodbye to us. Soon after Vice left, Lester answered a call from someone, later coming back to tell us that he needed to go because he had a basketball match with his friends.

Anne and I were more than glad to see them gone, considering that we were both getting tired of their presence. But also because Anne had been dying to tell me something that she didn't want to say in front of her brothers. And now that they're gone, she revealed that she was asked out on a date with the guy.

That was fast, but instead of saying that, I expressed my excitement by showing that I was happy for her. Anne was happy as well, but also worried. She didn't want any of her brothers to know about this date because she knew that they'll just prevent her from going.

"They always do." She said, frowning.

I shook my head, having high hopes that they won't this time.

"K, what should I do?"

"I'll talk to them." I suggested. "I mean I was able to talk them out of attacking the guy earlier, so maybe I can do that again." I shared and her eyes widen in shock.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I told them that they should just let you live your life, that they can't always protect you, and they actually listened."

Anne smirked at this, completely impressed. "Interesting."

"What?"

"Well - They're not the type to follow someone's advice, especially if it goes against their beliefs." Anne said, and I just sat there, confused. She shook her head with amusement and ended our conversation on that. She left right after, refusing to explain what she meant, only leaving me with a "forget it" and a "see see you around."

-

It was around 9pm. I had just finished taking a shower, and the temperature was freezing cold. I tied my hair up in a messy bun, not bothering to dry it up. Getting myself comfortable in a loose shirt and sweatpants, I wandered around my room.

The walls were plain white. A twin size bed was positioned by the window and next to a small tv was my closet. I walked over to my closet and looked for an outfit to wear on my visit to my mom tomorrow. After going through my clothes, I decided with a simple loose sweater and jeggings.

Then out of nowhere, I heard a loud commotion. I ran out of my room to check the sound, out into the hallway and into the kitchen. Turns out, it was just my uncle, who apparently dropped a few pans. I jogged over to help him with the pans, and wondered what these were for.

"Are you going to bake?" I asked, standing up to place the pan on the counter.

"Mhm." He answered.

"Bake what?"

"Cake."

Cake? "For who?" I asked. Is it someone's birthday tomorrow?

"Vice." He said, then switched the mixer for the frosting he's creating from scratch.

"Again?" I asked, recalling the first time I met the triplet when he came in to ask uncle about a cake when I first got here.

The chef nodded.

"What for Uncle?" I asked, even more curious.

"I don't know." He shrugged. He scoop a small amount of frosting using a small spoon and handed it to me. "Tell me what you think."
