Chapter 9
Karylle's POV
"I'm taking Karylle to the mall with me." Anne told his brother, then glared at Lester, "But he won't let me."
Lester rolled his eyes and Vice sighed. Something tells me Vice agreed with his brother. But after glancing at me, he let out a sigh and nodded.
"Okay." Vice said and Anne jumped in joy. Lester wanted to protest but Anne covered his mouth.
"But I'm coming." Vice added, gazing at me once again.
Anne opened her mouth, probably to protest, but Lester beat her to speaking. "Great! I'll come too!"
"Wha-" Anne started, but closed her mouth when Vice gave her a look. She knew arguing with them won't change their mind, so she zipped her mouth and stormed away towards the driveway, pulling me along with her.
When we got outside, Anne took her keys out only to be snatched away by her brother. "You won't be needing this."
"Hey!"
Vice threw the keys to Lester, who caught and placed it inside his pockets, completely out of their little sister's reach. Their ability to understand each other without speaking left me amused.
"I'll drive." Vice said, walking towards the garage.
"I'm already letting you guys come! The least you could do is let me drive!" She whined, obviously annoyed.
Vice gave a pointed look. "The last time we let you drive to the mall, you escaped away with your car to meet up with your friends, and where did you end up?" I looked at Anne who only rolled her eyes. "The bar. You think we'd let you do that again?"
Anne didn't reply. The two brothers shook their head and I stood there, simply wondering if I should contribute my opinion on the situation. I shouldn't, really. I don't think I have the right to say what they can't and can do with their sister. But then again, Anne is an adult, she can make her own decisions. The brothers can't stop her from doing whatever she wants to do forever. One day, they'll have to realize that.
"Get in." Vice said, once the garage door opened. Anne took a hold of my hand and started leading me to Vice's gray Lamborghini. But there was another pull at my hand. I looked over and found myself in a similar situation as earlier.
"She's riding with me." Lester said, gently pulling my hand.
"And who said?"
Anne pulled back. "Me."
"Can't you ride by yourself?"
"Uh guys-" I tried to butt in, but they didn't hear me. That paved way for my eyes to focus on something else as their voices faded out. My focus landed on the triplet leaning on his car, who rolled his eyes at his siblings. He walked over to the driver's side of his car and got in. He was sat inside for a few seconds until he honked his horn, finally ending Lester and Anne's argument, and bringing me back to my senses.
"Anne, I can ride with Lester." I told her just so I can avoid being in the same car as Vice.
"A-ha!" Lester said a bit too loud, pointing it out to Anne that he won the argument because I was going to ride with him. This made Anne roll her eyes. Eventually, she nodded and let me go. I took one last look at the triplet in the car and found him staring at me through the rearview mirror. It wasn't until Lester tapped my shoulder when I realized that I too have been staring back. I then faced Lester, who was smirking.
"Shall we?" He led me to his yellow Lamborghini and opened the door for me. The car still had the new car smell it had the first time I was in here. It was a scent that I liked very much.
