『Chapter 16』〇 Protection

Reo P.O.V

"Do you think that he could he anywhere?" I asked Kazunari Takao. That last time we seen Hanamiya-kun was when we trashed Mirami's house. And what (Name)-chan told us was really sad. I didn't know Hanamiya had a late mother. I wonder that's why he is the way he is. It's been a full day since we started searching, but he haven't seen anything that might give us a clue on where he could be.

"I don't know. What (Name) told us was really sad. I can't believe that Hanji-san died." Kazunari moped, "if she's no more, then what would happen to us? And the other people that were turned into Nekos?" That is a good question. Usually, when the caster of a spell dies, the effects of that spell wear off. Maybe we could be stuck like Nekos forever. But i don't want to! I had enough adventures with this lunatic. 

It was lightning a bit, then it started to rain down on us. Well that's just great. Now we'll get wet while looking for him. We came across this cardboard box that was laying on it's side. The both of us got into it as fast as we could. As soon as we got in, we looked outside at the wet sidewalk. Now what? We'll never find Hanamiya in this weather.

"What should we do? We can't just stay here forever. Today is the funeral you know. I heard that all of the cats from the shop are going to be there." I noted, "so will (Name)." 

"I don't know. It's pouring down everywhere. And I bet the funeral is about to begin. I hope Hanamiya is okay." Kazunari sighed, "(Name) would be so sad if something bad happens to him." The both of lied down as we closed our eyes, hoping that a miracle would finally come to us. 

"The two of you came to the right place. What do you guys wants?" We heard a familiar voice in the box. Our eyes shot opened as we looked back at the end of the box, there was a black cat with the teal streaks in his fur and golden eyes. He looked a bit upset and angry as he saw us. That's Hanamiya! Has he been hiding in this box the whole time? Well, it looks like he has dry fur, so that would be a yes.

"Hanamiya. We were looking for you everywhere. What are you doing here? (Name)-chan was looking for you everywhere. She's worried sick about you ever since you told her about your mother." Kazunari said, "when are you going to meet up with her again?"

"Meet up with her? Oh, please. Don't be ridiculous, idiot. She's not worried about me at all. In fact, I bet she s having the time for her life now that I won't beat anyone up." He snickered," I bet that she is living a good life without me always bugging her. And I m just as happy. You see my little house I have here. I worked my back off to find this beauty." Okay, he's gone crazy now. Little house? It's a long cardboard box, that I think he paid a fish for it. I'm even surprised no one has even got it of the sidewalk and into the dumpster.

"Uh, Hanamiya-kun, it' a box." I told him.

"I know it's a box, idiot. But at the same time, this is my little dream  home. Check it out." He walked further into the box and pushed out a smartphone. Wait, a smartphone?

"I got this from a very kind human, who saw me all defenseless and wanted me to have something special." He lied, "I can watch the news, my favorite shows, anything I want. The best part is, I don't have to pay any bills." Hanamiya kicks back as he turns on the phone and the news comes on. 

"You stole that from someone's pocket as he was sitting down, did you?" Kazunari said.

"Who told you?" Hanamiya asked. Well, the box is next to the bench so what else could we figure out?

"Anyway, (Name)-chan wanted us to tell you to come home. She misses you and that she's sorry for your mother. She was a very kind woman." I said to him, "she knows that she loved you so much." Hanamiya rolled his eyes and turned his head away from us.
