My expression was quickly flooding with anger as my face turned bright red in frustration. "Moving?!"
"Yeah...you didn't know?"
Ignoring him, I scrambled to my feet and flew open the door, sprinting downstairs and cutting off my mom shouting, "so hey mom, when were you planning on telling me about the big move?!" She stood their, clearly shocked that I had found out. Suddenly Max's face twisted into a grimace, "Chandler!" he screamed.
Chandler's head suddenly peaked out or the doorway, "I need to speak to you for a second." I saw Chandler rolling his eyes as his dad led him into the back yard. I scoffed at my mother and ran inside, slamming the door behind me. "Alexandra, come back here!" I ignored her, and suddenly heard footsteps running up the stairs behind me. Picking up the pace, I made a dash for my bedroom and slammed the door. Just before it could close, a foot was jammed inside, propping the door open. My mother shoved the door open and locked it behind her. "Alexandra. What was that little scene you pulled back there?"
"Oh I don't know, Mom. Maybe you could've prevented it by actually telling me about this move?!"
"Calm down sweetheart. Atlanta has great schools, a lot of shopping malls, some nice movie theat-"
"Mom! Do you not understand what anything? I don't wanna leave my friends. What about Drake?! I love it here, and I love Center High. Your stupid marriage is killing me!"
"Honey listen-"
"Just get out of my room." She let out a long sigh, and put her hand on my leg. I flicked her hand off, disgusted. I could never stand her. She never let me speak, ever. Now was my chance. She opened her mouth to speak, but I cut her off, "Mom, stop. You've already angered me enough. I'll get packing."
"Thank you, Alex. We leave at 7:00 for a 9:30 flight."

The car ride seemed to take forever, as it was only Chandler and I. We were supposed to be doing some brotherly sisterly "bonding" shit but whatever. Mom and Max were in the car driving down together, probably having the time of there lives, as the two of us got stuck in the back of the moving van.
I tried to stir a conversation, so I began with, "so, what's Atlanta like?" Without looking back at me, he shrugged and replied, "guess it's ok, nothing too great. Nothing different from any other school." Man, couldn't have asked for a better description.
"Play any sports?" I asked. "Football and swimming, I'll say it's a lot of damn work."
"Hey you swim too? Nice, how long?"
"My 6th year, you swim?"
"Yeah, it's my 8th year this year...guess I miss my team already." He nodded and turned his head towards the window. That's when I received a text. Great, from Drake. I had completely forgotten to say goodbye to him. I ignored the text for now, I'd reply later. I checked the time on my phone, 7:24pm. Great, this is gonna be a long night...and before I knew it, I was in a deep sleep.
