Chapter 3

"Alpha's going to be so mad when we get back." Zane's voice says.

"I know." Blaze said. "But how did Quinton get a Grier?"

"I have no clue. They're the most deadly creatures ever." Zane said. "He's awake. We should get going, Alpha wants us there as soon as possible. He wants to see Rain really bad."

The boys come back to the car from the parking lot. Now that my body has fully awakened a sharp pain floods my body, starting from the back of my leg. A whimper of pain leaves me. Blaze looks back at me from the passenger seat.

"How do you feel?" he asks me.

"I'm in a lot of pain, how do you think I feel?" I question sarcastically.

"Right. Sorry." he said. "You've slept through most of the drive so we'll be their shortly."

"How long was I asleep?" I ask curiously.

"Three days." Zane answers from the drivers seat. We pull out of the gas station and back onto the road. "That thing that bit you had some type of venom in its teeth that knocked you out."

"So what was that thing?" I ask.

"We don't know." Blaze lied quickly.

"Yes, you do. You guys were just talking about it. Why won't you tell me what it was?" I said angrily.

"It's not our place to say." said Zane. "But we are taking you to somebody who can tell you what's going on."

*Parker's P.O.V*

"Come on Alpha, why don't you just tell the boys to come back. Then they can stop wasting their time on that child you're so obsessed with. You could pick a much better Luna than him." Celeste said.

"No. That 'child' as you call him, has my heart. He will be your Luna, and you will respect him. Now get out of my office before I remove you." I said, menacingly.

   With that said I slammed the door shut behind her. I throw myself down into my office chair, sighing.

   Something is wrong. I can feel it. I just hope it doesn't have to do with Rain. I will singlehandedly strangle both of them if Rain isn't brought to me in one piece without even one scratch in him.

   I settle down into my chair and start on some of my paperwork. Most of it is treaties and letters from other packs. After a few hours my door busts open.

  "What the-" I start.

  "Alpha, he's badly injured. He needs medical attention." Zane shouts. A sweet smell fills the air but its mixed with blood.

   I take Rain into my arms, and even though he's about half unconscious he snuggles closer to my chest. A small smile spreads on my face before I realise the intensity of the situation.

  "What happened to him? You all told me he was fine. This didn't happen within the last 24 hours so somebody lied." I said as we started jogging towards the medical ward.

  "We picked him up three nights ago. As he was running to the car a Grier attacked him. It ripped out a lot of flesh on his leg and left a lot of cuts." Blaze explains.

  "That doesn't tell me why he's so skinny! Or why he has so many cuts and bruises all over the rest of his body!" I growl.

  "Alpha there's no time to explain right now. Ill fill you in later." Zane promises.

   Rains sweet scent calms me just enough so that I don't kill either of the boys. Upon arriving in the medical ward my mate is swept out of my arms, and I immediately miss him. Id only just gotten him back and now he was being carried away again.

  "Now what happened?" I ask calmly, sitting down in the waiting room. As my mates scent dissipates my calm exterior goes with it.

  "I'm sorry Alpha. We haven't been exactly, um, truthful when we, uh, told you-"

  "What the hell has been going on then!" I roar cutting him off.

   Heads turn in my direction but I couldn't give a shot less at this point. These two idiots have been lying about the safety of my precious mate.

  "Alpha, your mate has gone through so much in the past few years. He's been verbally, physically, and sexually abused by his father and several others." Blaze answers stepping up for his mate.

   An animistic growl rips through my throat. My body unwillingly shifts and my wolf takes over.

*Eon's P.O.V* (Parker's wolf)

   After hearing all of that stuff about my mate I had to take control.

   I take off running down the hospital corridor, ignoring the screams of frightened pack members. My little mate needs me and I need him.

   I best through the hospital room door and, much to the frightened doctors distress, lay down in the corner. After growling at several nurses they go back to working on my little Rain.

   Hours later they finish working on Rain. I watch a nurse change him into regular clothes despite my growls of protest and I shift back into my human form.

*Parker's P.O.V*

   After getting clothes and talking to the doctor about Rain's condition I take my mate up to my room to rest.

   Upon reaching my room I find a beat up green bag that smells faintly of Rain. I lay him down on my bed to rest until the medication wares off and he wakes up.

   In the bag I find two sets of beat up clothes and a book so torn up I can't read the title. The bag could fit so much more but I'm guessing this is all of my mates possessions.
