After getting to know each other, we headed towards the spacious backyard so that we can start playing.
Mark explained what the game was all about, “Now that you know how to play it I would like to tell you the rules. First off all, no rough play okay? No pushing, no punching and no fighting. Let us all be a good sport.”
I agreed, “Exactly, always remember no one wants to be a sore loser. I’ll divide you all into two teams but we have a problem, there are only five of you.”
“So I’ll be joining a team for the game to be fair.” Mark continued.
“Listen up, Team number one consists of Maggie, Will and Charles. Team number two consists of Josh, Angel and Mark. Get ready!”
The kids all went to their perspective teams and planned. Mark was nodding his head to what Josh was saying, obviously pretending to be interested. I laughed and gave him two thumbs up. Will has the ball, so he was holding to it with all his might.
“Are you all ready?” I shouted.
They all nodded, so I blew my whistle signalling them to start.
I doubled over from laughter because the kids were just too adorable! They were frantically chasing the ball, I saw Charles trip but he stood up right away with a battle shout. There was no goalie, so the kids score by getting the ball. I saw the ball being grabbed by Josh, Maggie, Angel, Will, Charles then Mark.
Mark playfully chased the kids while they shrieked, I lost track of the scoring so I just watched their little game. I laughed so hard when I saw Mark being attacked by Will, Maggie and Charles, they were all grabbing his foot and climbing his back while one of them tried to get the ball. This was too much fun to watch! Reluctantly, I had to blow my whistle signalling them to stop because they were already getting tired. They all sat down on the grass still laughing, even Mark.
I saw the group of Jenna and Matt walking towards the backyard, I guess it was their turn to use the field. I waved at them and they waved back.
“Okay guys! Time to go back inside and freshen up! I bet you guys stink!” I said jokingly, pinching my nose.
They slowly got up and entered the house; they forgot to ask me who won, but it’s okay at least they enjoyed.
Mark joined me walking back towards the house.
“That was so fun!” He said cheerfully. “Man! Let’s do that again next time, seriously.”
I gigged, “I know right? They were all so cute! I laughed so hard when they tried to tackle you, that was so hilarious I wish I could’ve videoed it.”
We laughed all the way back to the house until I saw the clock. “O shoot! It’s already twelve- thirty, the kids should be eating lunch by now.”
“Oh right,” he agreed, “Come on then.”
We knocked on their doors and told them to hurry up and eat lunch.
