"Jacer. Are you okay?" Slade hovered over me as I tried steadying my breath. I nodded slowly. He couldn't know. Never. "You sure?" I nodded again still not using words. "You don't look like you are okay?" He whispered sitting beside me. "Im fine." "Bull." "Huh?" I raised an eyebrow as he smirked. "Im calling your bluff. You are lying." "No im not." i said as he nodded. "You bit your lip again. Your tell, baby girl. You forget im your brother's best friend, so I have been around you enough to know when your lying." I sighed. "Don't forget, you study girls for a living." He looked at me before turning my body to face his, so now we were facing one another. "What's that supposed to mean?" "You're observant on girls because you gotta know how go play them." He sighed chuckling while running his fingers through his hair. "You are one relentless girl on that." I stood up and shrugged. "It's the truth Slade Quinn and if you can't handle that then you, my dear, are more hopeless than I thought." I whispered leaning down as he smirked.
Suddenly he lifted himself up pushing his lips on mine as I pushed his chest and pulled away. "Aw come on JT. Please one more?" He pleaded as I rolled my eyes and started leaning down. When our lips were barely a centimeter away I paused. "In your dreams, player." I whispered before standing up straight and walking to my room. I laid on my bed sighing as I shook my head. Memories of him needed to stop. He was out of my life and had been for almost a year. His brown hair and blue eyes invaded my mind as sleep and another nightmare yanked my body from my grasp.
"Please" I cried as he turned to me hurt and anger flaring in his now deep blue eyes. "Why did you break the vase? I told you not to throw this thing around the house. You never listen." He growled as I looked down at the floor. "I'm sorry." i mumbled as his hand came across my cheek. I fell to the ground, a stinging sensation overwhelmed my cheek as I stared up into his hazel eyes in disbelief through my own teary eyes. "I told you to not mumble. Speak clearly. Gosh, you never listen. Just listen for once in your life, Jacer Marie." He yelled as I cried for minutes on end before he picked me up in a hug."Are you okay honey?" He did love me didn't he? He only hit me once before. He only yelled at me once or twice. This had to be a fluke. A mistake. It wouldn't happen again. Right a mistake. It just had to be, right? "Answer me Jacer." He yelled holding my face in his hands. I feared him when he got like this and he knew that. "Are you okay?" He asked angrily as I stared into his pointy hazel eyes. I didn't answer quick enough because his fist collided with my rib cage. Repeatedly his fist came crashing into my stomach and rib cage and even my spine. He never hit my face or arms or legs because that would be too visible. "You will answer when I ask a question." He demanded as he hit me. Afterward he left me bruised and beaten on my bedroom floor before slamming my door. Minutes later he returned, sorrow and sadness filling his eyes. "Honey, im so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I just don't want to lose you. I can't lose you. I would go crazy. Please honey I won't ever do it again. I promise. I love you." He whispered as I nodded and gave into his hug. Then he kissed my forehead and tucked me into bed that night before handing me a few icepacks to put on my bruises. That was how he was supposed to be not the monster he was only an hour or so ago.
"Jace. Jace. JT. JT. Wake up. Jacer wake up." I woke up to see Ace and Jordan standing around my bed. Slade sat beside me stroking my hair. I blinked rapidly and looked from each one of them to the other. "You were having a nightmare." Slade said softly as Jordan and Ace nodded. "Want me to spend the night?" Ace asked as I shook my head. "You have that trip go on. I will be fine." I choked out as Jordan kissed my forehead and followed Ace out after Ace hugged me. "Love you." They said in unison. "Love you too." I stared at Slade who scooted closer to my headboard and made himself comfortable. "What are you doing?" I asked as he shrugged. "Making sure you are okay." He mumbled closing his eyes but still sitting up. "Im fine. You can go." I said as he shook his head. "You were screaming bloody murder. Pardon me but that is far from fine." He mumbled as I laid back onto my pillow and stared up at the ceiling. "Wanna come to a party with me tomorrow?" "A party?" I asked as he nodded. "It is mainly my friends' party but they want to meet you, since Tyler has a big mouth and already posted all over that I got a girlfriend." I raised an eyebrow remembering the game. "Right. Im your girlfriend?" I said more of a question as he nodded. "You know most girls would practically kill to be in your position right now." I shrugged. "I am not most girls." "Who broke you?" He asked as I glared at him. By now he was laying down and facing me while I did the same. "I am not some toy that gets broken, Slade." "I forgot. Sorry." He seemed sincere before looking down at my lips and dragging his eyes back to mine. "Who hurt you so that you won't trust anyone?" I squinted at his eyes while pressing my lips together. "I thought you said you knew me Slade Quinn, you have been my brother's best friend since I was twelve." I muttered as he chuckled. "Touché." "Night Slade." I mumbled over my shoulder after turning over putting my back to him. "Night baby girl. Sweet dreams."
I woke up to a protective hand wrapped around my waist. I tried getting up without waking the tall six foot three guys sleeping beside me. But I failed miserably. "Where you going?" He mumbled groggily as I checked my phone. "Slade it's two in the afternoon. You gotta get up. And out of my bed." I pulled on my covers as he covered his head with my pillow. "If you're scared Jordan will know I spent the night. He already knows. He walked in here at like eight. I told him to shoo. Now let me sleep but I gotta be up by four." I shook my head and sat back on my bed trying to get my pillow from his grip. "Slade. Please
wake up. I will give you as many hugs as you want today." I muttered dreading it immediately as his arms wrapped around me. "And you can't push me away." He mumbled into my waist as I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Okay fine. It's a deal but you have to get up now." "Oh im up baby girl and I will be taking advantage of those hugs." He winked as I grabbed a towel and some more clothes out of my drawers. "We leave at four fifteen so be ready by then." He yelled through the door as I turned the water on. "Okay." I yelled back before pulling my clothes off and stepping into the shower.
An hour and a half later I was sitting in the kitchen eating an apple when two muscular arms engulfed my waist from behind. "Hey baby girl, you ready?" I shook my head as he stared at me. "What?" "I need to get shoes." "Well I already have your bikini and some pjs because we will probably sleep there." "Bikini? And pjs, I don't think so Slade." "Trust me." He said as I threw the apple core in the trash. "I don't trust you Slade. Remember you are a player. And you would do anything to see a girl." I snarled as I walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth. He followed and stood in the doorway. "Do not." He said as I glared at him. I finished quickly as he engulfed me into yet another hug where I resisted to push away. It was a rule after all. "Do too. See you even followed me into the bathroom. I could have been trying to use the bathroom or something." I mumbled as he shook his head and finally let go of me. "Nah. Now what bikini and pjs did you pack me?" I asked as he checked his wrist, which held no watch. "Oh would you look at the time. Let's go don't wanna be too late." He mumbled hollering a bye to Jordan and practically dragging me out the house. Oh boy, what was i going to do with Slade Quinn?
