"Hey guys this is Jacer." I looked to see about four guys sitting on a couch as I looked at Slade. Some party. I thought as they all smirked and waved. "Hi." I said sheepishly as he hugged me from behind before pointing out the guys with one arm still wrapped around my waist keeping him anchored to me. "That's Victor, Larry, Daniel, and Johnny." I waved as he dropped my bag, that he insisted on carrying, next to the couch before sitting in the only empty spot. I raised an eyebrow at him as he pulled me towards him. I shook my head. "I've been sitting all day. Thanks though babe." I said going to stand behind him. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders as he kissed my cheek. "Aw the love birds. Now stop your going to make me gag." Larry said fake gagging as I chuckled. "So how'd a girl like you get him?" Victor asked as I chuckled. "Well first off, what do you mean a girl like me?" I asked not sure if that was an insult or not. "A girl way outta his league." "Hey!" Slade yelled out hitting at Victor as I chuckled. "Well I wasn't that easy. He had a lot of work." I joked as we laughed and Slade pouted. We talked some more and laughed a lot.
It was almost an hour later when the front door boomed open. "Baby, you want something to drink?" Slade asked as I shook my head. "Thank you baby." I mumbled as the footsteps got closer. I placed a kiss on his cheek for effect just as a familiar booming voice echoed throughout my ears. "Hey what up? Oh I see you've got a girl there Slade, is she the new girlfriend?" My lips pulled away from Slade's cheek as he chuckled. "Yeah this Jacer. Jacer this-." "Jacey?" He asked as I looked up, my gaze meeting with a familiar brown haired boy that I thought was long gone in my past. "Jake." I muttered as Slade looked up at me confused. A few of the other guys cleared their throats or coughed or even said a drawn out, "awkward." "Baby is everything alright?" Slade asked as hurt engulfed me. He could hurt me. I couldn't stay here. He was going to get me. He was going to break me. He was going to make me broken yet again.
"So Jacey and Slade. Never saw a couple like that." He muttered before going into the kitchen. Slade had known Jake and I had dated but he didn't know why we broke up. No one but us did. "Hey Jake." I said as he nodded once. Everyone thought he broke my heart but it was the other way around. I broke his.
"JT." Slade said as I looked down at him. "You comin' swimmin'?" He asked in his country accent as I nodded. "Yeah let me go change." I mumbled as he stood hugging me before grabbing my hand and the bag. He led me to a bedroom and opened the bag. "You want the bathroom or here?" He asked as I shrugged. "I'll take the bathroom then." He kissed my cheek before grabbing his shorts and dashing into the bathroom leaving my bikini on the bed for me. I immediately began undressing and pulling the bikini on. I smiled to myself realizing it was one of my less revealing bikinis. I struggled to try getting the strings that go across my back tied. "You dressed?" He called out as I sighed. "No I can't get the thing tied." I mumbled as he sighed. "Well let me help." I sighed. "Fine." He walked out and tied the string before I smiled. "Thanks." He nodded once and started towards the door. "Oh yeah this will be the room we are sleeping in." "There's only one bed." I muttered as he rolled his eyes. "We slept in your bed last night. Together." He fake gasped and made a surprised face as I rolled my eyes. "Lets go honey." I froze looking at him as he turned back to me. "What?" I shook my head as I blinked. "Just stick to baby, baby girl, or something else." He shrugged as we walked down the hall and into the living room. "Whatever you want sweetheart." I smiled up at him as I felt a few gazes on us. He lightly kissed my cheek as we looked up to find all the guys. "Come on love birds, let's hit the pool." As soon as we got in Slade pulled me to his chest while they all sat on the stairs. "When is the party starting?" Jake asked as Victor shrugged. "Around eightish probably." "And no one is around to complain about loud music and obnoxious teens." Larry mocked as I chuckled. "Remember that time Slade knocked on the neighbors door with only his underwear to ask if he could borrow a spoon?" Daniel laughed as Slade rolled his eyes. "If I remember right it was a dare made by Johnny." "Oh remember that time Cara tried getting with Slade and to make Johnny jealous and he made her go home." I stiffened as Slade rolled his eyes and pulled me closer. "Dude shut up." Slade mumbled as I looked over at the guys. "Oh no don't listen to my boyfriend. Please tell me more all about these girls." I snarled making sure I sounded jealous. And with a groan from Slade his friends dived into a bunch of stories.
Minutes later I excused myself to grab some water as I stood in the kitchen. He really was a player. How was I going to play this player? I thought as a hand pulled me from my thoughts. "Hey." Jake. "Hey Jake." I mumbled as he sighed. "I miss you." He said as I stepped back. "I have a boyfriend." I said as he nodded. "I know. But I didn't want our breakup. We shouldn't have broken up. We both know that. Besides I thought I would let you know he bet the guys that he could bring a girl to a party." I looked at him confused and shrugged. "And that's the past." "No Jacey. That party was tonight. That girl is you. Jace he bet on you." I stared at Jake wide-eyed. I sighed shaking my head. "We did. We had too. You and I both know that. You were the one who-" "Hey is everything okay?" Slade interrupted as I nodded. "Yeah man, im goin to go." Jake said before walking away looking over his shoulder giving me a sad smile with his saddened filled eyes. "What was that about?" Slade asked finally turning to me as I sighed. "Things." "No duh. What things?" "Quit being so nosy Slade." I said turning away from him. He hugged me from behind as I sighed. "Well im here if you ever want to talk." He whispered as I stared out the window in front of me, giving me the perfect view of all the guys, including Jake.
The light and the dark. Jake and Slade. My light and my darkness.
