"It's party time." Larry yelled as I sighed. Slade and I laid across one of the couches, his arms wrapped around me as he played with my long brown hair. "No." i groaned as Slade chuckled. "Wake up, beautiful." He kissed my temple as I shook my head. "I wanna sleep. Can I take a nap?" I asked making a pouty face with puppy dog eyes. "Gosh man how can you say no to that face?" Larry asked smirking as Slade shook his head. "I can't and she knows that. That's why I am not looking at her." Slade replied shaking his head. "And no. You just woke up. Its time to get ready for the party." He said kissing my cheek as I laid my head back on his chest. "But Slade." "But nothing Jace. Come on." He patted my hip as I yawned. I reluctantly stood up and followed him anyway. I changed in the bathroom into a tank top and some jean shorts that Slade had packed me before putting make up on and brushing my hair.
"Beautiful." Slade muttered as I walked out. He immediately grabbed me in his arms. "Okay maybe we can take a nap." He whispered into my ear sitting down, pulling me with him. He laid back pulling me with him again and closed his eyes. "Oh no. You made me get up and get dressed and do my make up. So get your butt up." I mumbled as he sighed opening his eyes. "You don't need make up, you are gorgeous without it." He mumbled as I shook my head. "Alright. Let's go." I said pulling him up as he smiled. "Whatever you say." Music started to blare as we walked into a room full of people. "Ready?" He asked as I swallowed my fear and nodded. A few guys eyed me up and down as I grabbed Slade's hand. Girls looked at me with eyes full of jealousy. "Slade." "Yeah?" He asked as he led me into the kitchen where I saw a few familiar faces. "This is a lot of people." I am sure my eyes were wide because I sure was a little frightened. I was not your average party girl, in fact I have never been to a party. "Stick by me and you'll be fine, baby." He whispered in my ear as Victor smiled. "Hey look it's Slade and his girlfriend, Jacer." I smiled and nodded in his direction as my eyes darted from place to place. Music blared. People yelled and laughed. People drank from red solo cups. People danced. Lights were out except the outside lights that streamed in through the windows. People swam in the pool. I swallowed and looked to the laughing and talking group of boys around me. Slade had his arms securely wrapped around my waist as I blinked. I turned myself around in his arms as I reached up on my tiptoes, I still wasn't tall enough to reach his ear so he bent down. "I need some air, I will be back." He went to follow me but I kissed his cheek, for effect since his friends were watching, before shaking my head. "I'm coming." "No. I will be back, promise. Stay with your friends." I yelled as he hesitantly nodded. He knew he wouldn't win that battle.
Once outside I went around the house to a vacant side and slumped against the house. It was so overwhelming. The music. The people. The noises. The vulgarity. The dares. I just needed a break. I sighed as I threw my head back letting it fall against the house as I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. "Needed a break too?" The male voice asked as I struggled to make out his features, he sat awfully close to me. "Yeah. Its loud and cramped." I muttered noticing he had blonde hair and brown eyes. The complete opposite of Slade. "Yep. Not a party girl I suppose?" I shook my head as he chuckled. "Yeah you look out of place." "You come to these often?" I asked as he shrugged. "Anytime Slade or Victor or one of those guys have them. This your first one?" "Yeah." I muttered as I played with my thumbs. "So what rude soul dragged you here?" "Uh Slade." I muttered as he began laughing. He was literally laughing at me. That made me so angry as I glared at him and began getting up. "No wait. I just thought Slade brought his girlfriend and I feel dumb because I expected it to be some half dressed party girl. Well you are definitely not a half dressed party girl. You must be the famous Jacer I have heard all about. Im Joel by the way." He said not letting go of my wrist. "I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult." I muttered as I sat back down. Maybe he wasn't all bad. "Compliment. Definitely a compliment. So you and Slade huh?" I shrugged. "Yeah." "I guess he really did it then." "Did what?" I asked as he looked around like he had just said something totally wrong. "Nothing." He stood up quickly as I jumped up and raced to step in front of him. "No tell me." "He finally suckered some goody two shoes to finally be his girlfriend to make Heather and Jenna jealous. And I guess he won the bet." I looked at him in disbelief. "Heather?" "His ex." I stared back at Joel. I knew this was a ploy for his friends and to make Jenna jealous but another girl as well. "Wait bet?" I asked as he stepped back. "Someone bet Slade that he couldn't get a good girl, to date him. I really shouldn't be telling you this, you know." "Well you did. Thanks Joel." I mumbled as I left. I would walk to my house before going back to that party. A bet? I was just helping some bet to him. Okay, I will show him. I will make up some excuse like I got sick or something and didn't want to ruin his party. I will make him fall for me. Yeah I will make the famous Slade Quinn fall for me. And then I will break his heart. I will leave him in the dust. I will win this game and I will once and for all break this player. I just have to.
